It's been a very difficult week for the MBs 😓 Lexi and Mable got into a fight at the beginning of last week which left Lexi with a puncture wound that quickly became infected. She's now on a 2-week course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories, has had an infected abscess lanced, and has been able to do little to nothing since Tuesday of last week. After a few trips to the vets (and more to come), I think we can finally say she has turned a corner. She has been very, very ill - particularly over the weekend - and mummies have shed many tears in recent days, but today she's finally beginning to look a little more like herself again which is a welcome relief. As a direct result of the fight, Mable is under a strict new training routine with me, and I have to say I couldn't be prouder of her. Every day she shows me how brilliantly clever she is and every day we see small improvements in her overall behaviour. This part is going to be a much lengthier process, but I'm certain by this time next year, I'll be reflecting on what a different dog she is. I've also set myself some personal goals for 2021 that will sit alongside her training and help us achieve a happier and healthier home life for all five of us. As for our little sun god, Louis has been an absolute treasure through all of this. He is so quiet and unassuming, and has been letting us crack on with what the girls need with next to no complaint or fuss. I've being trying to allow a little extra snuggle time with him each day as I'm certain he must be feeling a bit neglected in the wake of all this chaos. Our precious boy is always happy as long as he's got food in his belly and a mummy to snuggle into, so that is what I shall always give him. If I ever doubted for a second exactly what my family means to me, this week has been a painful reminder.
