Hellooooo, the university has me trapped, so I have not been able to write what I have in draft, but today I got a little inspiration to finish this Tech work. Because my cute baby Tech deserves a little love.
Summary: The guys never tell Tech he does a good job, so that's your self-assigned job on the Havoc Marauder
Warning: None, fluff, just a little spice,
Words Count: 1439
"Tech, where the pink wire should go?"
"In the output port, just below the orange one" Tech's voice comes through the comlink.
"Got it" you said, connecting the wire in the output port, and tightening a couple of screws that had come loose in the process.
"Did you finish the wiring?"
"Yeah! Just finished" you answered.
"Did you put them in the correct order?"
You sigh "Do you wanna came here and check it?" obvious sarcasm gushing out of your voice.
"Sorry, just making sure, come up here to turn it on" you smile and came out from behind the panel you were working on, closing it before heading to the cockpit. Tech was sitting in the pilot seat.
"Ok, everything is ready, turn it on!" You said and stand behind him, looking at the controls over his shoulder, he ignited the engine moves a couple of switches, and pressed some buttons, you just waiting, then an image of a ship and some codes appeared on the screen.
You put a hand on Tech's shoulder and shake it with a big smile on your face "It works!"
He smiles looking at you over his shoulder "Yes, the encryption system works perfectly, and the other improvements we installed also seem to work fine, you did a great job"
"We" you corrected him, he turns the seat looking at you with furrowed eyebrows, confused
"We did a great job" you clarified, a big smile on your face, he adjusted his goggles in an attempt to hide his slight blush.
"I-I barely do something, I just gave you instructions"
"Oh, but very good instruction if I can tell" You kiss his temple, looking at how his lips curl up in a shy smile.
Tech likes it when you praise him for the things he does, you notice a couple of months ago when he helped you fix the battery on your datapad, Tech found the fault with just a couple of seconds when you had spent days trying to understand the problem, and when you told him how smart and amazing he was, he couldn't help but blush and mutter that it was his job, but you didn't miss the little smile in his face.
You had already noticed the attitude of his brothers towards him, they loved him that you knew, but they never mentioned the great work he was doing but they did emphasize when he made a mistake, so after the incident with the battery you decided to verbalize your thanks to the most followed.
"How are the repairs going?" Hunter's voice brings you back to the present.
"Very well, the new encryption system works better than ever" You said turning on your heels to face him.
Tech turn as well "We also fix the heating system and the broken main area control panel is operational again, better tell Crosshair to be more careful the next time".
"Yeah! That panel was a mess, Tech did a really good job with it" you look at him smiling while he looks away rubbing the back of his neck
You looked back at Hunter, expect him to say something to his brother but he just nods and turns to leave the cockpit, but before he could walk through the door frame you spoke again a little louder this time.
"Don't you think Hunter?" He looks at you over his shoulder, eyebrow raised.
"What?"
You sigh, putting your hands on your hips "That Tech did a good job".
He looks confused at you, then at Tech, and back to you again. You raise both eyebrows and jerked your head at Tech.
"Sure, good job Tech" he finally said giving a half-smile to his brother before leaving.
You sigh again, a little more exasperated this time, and let yourself fall in the copilot seat.
"Are you mad at Hunter?" Tech asks
"No..." arms crossed over your chest, Tech smirk, looking at you waiting for you to continue "Not mad, but...forget it," you said waving your hand.
Tech catches your hand in the air, turns his seat to face you, and gets closer to the edge of his seat so he could get a little closer to you, as he began to draw circles with his thumb on your knuckles. You got a little tense of his sudden action but immediately relax, he chuckles at your reaction and looked at you with a sweet gaze, half-smile on his face
"you said 'but', don't tell me to forget it..." he said in a playful tone.
You smiled as your eyes went to the window of the ship, your smile fades slowly "They never recognize your job"
The silence stretched out for a few seconds before Tech spoke again. "They do... Maybe they don't say it very often, but I know they appreciate what I do-"
"That's not what I meant" You cut him "I know they appreciate your work, of course they do!" You turn to face him "But it would be nice if they say that you are doing it good more often".
He half-smile and pulled your hand, making you get up and walk towards him, he patted his lap and you accepted the invitation and sat on his legs, yours hanging over the side of the seat, one of his hands rested on your back to support you, while the other kept holding your hand. "I don't need them to tell me"
"But you would like to"
His silence gave you the answer you need, you leaned in to leave a kiss on his cheek.
"I must admit that it would be nice if they... express it out loud from time to time... but I have you, you are always telling me that I do a good job, or that I am intelligent or attentive" you giggle and release his hand to cup his cheek.
He placed his hand in yours at the same time he leaned into your touch, closed eyes, and furrowed brows "And that is enough for me, it makes me feel special and..." With the palm of his hand against the back of yours, his fingers ran through the space between yours, trapping your hand, separating it from his face just enough to kiss the base of your palm, the next words came from his lips like a whisper "...and loved".
When Tech looks at you, he couldn't help but blush, you have the sweetest smile on your face, your eyes full of adoration, you looked at him like he was the most beautiful creature in the whole universe. His eyes travel to your lips, and you knew what he was asking for, so with both hands on his face, bring your face closer "You are special and deserve nothing but to be loved" you whispered before capturing his lip in a kiss.
Your heart melted when you hear him sigh and whimper on your lips, You separated your body from him, without breaking the kiss, settling on him, each knee resting on the seat now, on either side of him, his hand found its way to the back of your head, tangled his fingers in your hair as he deepened the kiss, his lips moved over yours with dedication, making you feel in the clouds.
You broke the kiss, gasping for air and he leaning his forehead on your shoulder, trying to normalize his breathing, his heart hammering hard against his chest.
His hand traveled up your arm until it found yours, taking it and intertwining your fingers, you press your lips on his head. "You are a very good kisser"
He chuckles and straightened up so he could see you, "really?" he asks with a playful tone.
"Mmmh" you nod "the best" you peck his lips.
He smiled and when he was leaning in to kiss you again, a loud sound came from outside the cockpit, followed by a burning smell.
"Kriffing Hell Wrecker!" Hunter's voice was heard through the door.
"It wasn't my fault! It was Crosshair!"
"Don't get me into this!"
"Tech!!!!"
Tech sighed tiredly, leaning his back on the seat "Not again."
you laughed and got up from him, holding out a hand "Well that happens to you for being the best repairing things here"
"I'm the only one who knows how to repair things here" he replied as he took your hand and got up.
You laughed again, dragging him towards the door, but before opening it you turned and pulled the collar of his armor to lower him and give him a quick kiss "Shut up and let me praise you".
Hi!!! Is time for some love to Tech, I love this nerdy guy so much and I just want to give him some love, I hope you like it! Also, I was inspired by the song "Watch you sleep" by Girl in red.
It's not the best story, sorry about that jajajaja.
ALSO Is my first time writing a gender-neutral fic, so if i did it wrong please let me know.
if you have any idea for a story and want me to write it, let me know: D
Your view blurry when you wake up, you blink a couple of times and rub your eyes, slowly coming back to your senses, the sunlight entered through the curtains of your apartment in Coruscant.
Then you felt a weight on your waist and something warm on your back, when you looked over your shoulder you noticed Tech peacefully asleep. That new, Tech always wake up first and immediately get up so you got used to waking up alone in the bed, you look at the clock in the wall... 9:30, his last mission has to be really rough if still asleep at this hour, you turned slowly to face him, trying not to wake him up you look at him.
He looks so peaceful, his mouth a little open as a soft snore come out of it, his chest goes up and down slowly, the soft breeze raised the curtain a little, letting the light shine directly on his beautiful face, highlighting all the aspects of his face that you love, his eyes narrowed and he unconsciously turned towards you to avoid the light giving you a perfect view of his face and his chest, you look at the lines of his face touching the marks that his goggles let in his cheeks and the bridge of his nose, your hand goes down for his face, fingers following the shape of his jaw, enjoying every moment, memorizing all the features of his face under your fingers.
Then you look down, your eyes found a scar in his collarbone, caressed it gently, remembering when his brothers dragged him to the ship, blood coming out of the wound, you did your best to stop the bleeding and bandage the wound, your hands shaking constantly and your mind screaming, you were so afraid to lose him.
You were so lost in the memory that miss when he wakes up, he put his hand over yours on his chest.
"Hi" he whispered in a raspy voice, you love his morning voice, you cup his cheek and smile at him "Hi yourself handsome" he smiled, squeezed his eyes, and stretched while letting out a sigh. Then, with his arm still around your waist, he pulled you even closer, your face burying into his chest as his chin rested on your head, you wrapped your arms around his torso.
"Did you sleep well?"
"I don't think I had slept that well in months" You giggle, and you squeezed them even tighter, he kisses your forehead "I wish I could wake up like this every morning" he whispered, you breathing deeply, fulling your lugs with his scent, your hands running down his back, finding more scars from past battles, some from before you knew each other.
Tech felt that he melts in your touch, the way your fingers gently ran over each of his scars sent a shiver down his spine, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, letting himself be carried away by the delicious sensation, but then he notices that you been stuck in one scar in particular, old, but more marked than others, a long one that followed a large part of its column, he got it years ago, in one of his first missions, he miscalculated the distance between two buildings before jumping, just remember the void in this stomach as he falls before he vanished
"That was a very ugly fall," he said trying to joke, you sigh "I know, Hunter told me the story" without stopping touching the scar on his back you brought your other hand to his collarbone separating a little from him to be able to see it.
"You could have died" you whisper.
"Perhaps, but that was a long time ago before I had you by my side to take care of me" you stay silent, then he notices your other hand and follows your gaze
"Oh! You mean this one, I could have died for that too, but one of the best medics in the entire galaxy was around to prevent it" He cups your cheek and press his lips against yours "lucky me" you smile joined your foreheads, your hand cups his face, closing your eyes to enjoy the feeling of having him close.
"I would give anything to have you like this for the rest of my life" you feel his hand in your wrists.
"I love you, Tech"
"I love you too, my darling"
In a couple of hours, he would have to get up and get ready to do his duty going from mission to mission risking his life for the republic, but now, under your sheets, it is only the two of you, there is no war, no strategies to plan, just kisses and hugs and sweet words, only two people who love each other unconditionally.
Hello there! I saw you were in need of prompts, and I hope this is a helpful one:
Tech & Reader (platonic or romantic), sharing a snack at Cid’s bar after a relatively successful mission. Reader’s accuracy with a blaster has improved, and Tech noticed.
Happy writing 💙💙
Thank you so much for this prompt! 💙💙 This one went a totally different direction than I originally thought, but I hope you like it!
Title - Something There That Wasn't There Before
Warnings: None, SFW
You sit down at the Bar at Cids, sighing heavily, the relief your tired body feels causing you to fold over and lay your head down on the countertop. The bar is cool and an involuntary groan escapes your lips. Tech sits down at the counter next to you, glancing sidelong at you with a soft smile curving the side of his lips. He leans his elbow on the bar and he shifts his focus back to the data pad in his hand.
Echo enters your field of vision and places a small container of Outpost Mix on the counter between you and Tech. “Here. Eat something. Hunter and I will turn the cargo in and get our payment.” He lands a light slap on your back, it hurt, but you succeeded in containing another involuntary groan. “You did good, kid.” You huffed a laugh, eyebrow arching upward, “Kid, huh? You know technically, I’m older than all of you!” You aren't certain, but perhaps saying that with your head laying on the bar didn't help your case. You are certain, however, that you heard Tech, Wrecker, and Hunter laugh as well. "Experience outranks everything - Kid." Echo arched his eyebrow in response, smiling as he turned away, heading towards Hunter outside Cid's office.
You reach your free hand to sample some of the outpost mix. It is a colorful grain, popped in some sort of oil. It tastes mildly sweet with a little kick of spice. “Mmm, Tech, you should try this.” You hold out the container with your free hand.
He looks up briefly from his datapad, a smile ghosts across his face as he takes in your position, leaning over the counter, head laid on one arm, an exhausted, goofy grin on your face. He nods and takes some of the mix. His eyes linger holding your gaze captive, “Echo is right," he says. You did quite well. I noted an impressive increase in accuracy.”
“Oh? The, uh, the shaking wasn’t as bad this time, I suppose.” Your brows furrow and you feel a wave of shame, guilt, and frustration wash over you. Useless, you think.
Tech adjusted his goggles and cocked his head to the side as he often did when observing new information. “The shaking is to be expected. Recovery from your injuries is an extensive process, but it seems our practice sessions have been paying off. The shaking is doing little to compromise your stability and control. I calculate a 12.35% improvement in marksmanship since our last mission.”
That surprised a deep chuckle out of you and you sat up, leaning your elbow on the counter. Your eyes soften and you regard Tech with a warm smile, “Well, I have a good teacher.”
You watch Tech's eyes widen slightly, pride and affection shining in those brown irises, and a smile ghosts across his lips.“Yes. Well, without Crosshair–"
"He would probably have strangled me by the end of the second training session." You laugh, "Besides, I think I much prefer my current teacher."
Tech blinks, absorbing the declaration and pauses briefly before responding. "As I have been your only teacher since your injury, you do not have enough data to make that decision." You simply blink at him and an raise your brow. He adjusts his goggles once more, "But-uh, thank you." You could swear you can see a blush forming, but he continues, "I have also enjoyed training- uh, with you." His eyes dart to yours, punctuating the word 'you'.
You hold Tech's gaze and feel a sudden warm tightness blossom in your chest. -Well, this is new, the thought flashes in your mind then dissolves.
"OH! What's this!?"
Eye contact is broken as Wrecker bursts the mysterious tension with loud enthusiasm, shouldering past you and reaching a hand into the outpost mix. He takes a handful and tosses it into his mouth, exclaiming, "Mmm! This is almost as good as Mantel Mix!" He flings his arms wide and hooks an arm around you and Tech pulling you into a crushing hug.
You hear Tech's muffled groan, "Wrecker! Do put me down!"
Wrecker laughs and drops you both with a soft thud. You nearly fall to the floor as he walks away, laughing deeply and loudly, to catch Omega for their trip to get their victory Mantell Mix.
Instead, you feel the light pressure of Tech's hand on your waist and he prevents your less than graceful fall. "Careful" He says, voice a little deeper than his normal tone. "We wouldn't want to have to start your training over - due to an aggravated injury."
Your mind goes dreadfully blank as he ensures your balance is restored. Tech returns to his seat and his datapad, then quietly holds out the remaining Outpost Mix.
You thank him and munch on the snack, your mind busy and your chest warm.
This is just a very small snippet with Tech and my own OC, Tay'la. As someone who has always struggled with shutting my brain off to fall asleep, I imagine Tech to struggle with this as well.
I wanted to write a soft scene of My OC helping Tech to fall asleep.
No warnings or ratings - SFW and mostly just fluff.
Tay’s eyes opened, thick with sleep, to the blinding light of Tech’s datapad. She blinked rapidly to clear her bleary eyes, and let out a soft sigh. The blue light from the data pad highlighted Tech’s profile and Tay noted his brow pinched in concentration. Her lips curled up slightly at the sight and she reached a hand over to rest lightly on his arm.
"Tech.” Her voice came out rough and scratchy from sleep, “Datapad. Down. Sleep now."
Tech adjusted his goggles and sighed, "I cannot sleep." His free hand covered hers and squeezed lightly.
Tay sighed, shifting upright onto her side, and resting her head on her hand, "The datapad isn't going to help, you know."
He raise an eyebrow, but chose not to address that particular comment, "I did not mean to wake you. Standard sleep requirement are least 6-8 hours of sleep."
She huffed out a laugh and shifted to sitting upward, leaning back onto the headboard, "I'm not sure either of us could ever claim to be standard." Tech regarded her with a faint smile, but the datapad remained securely in his hand. Time to switch strategies, then. “Even a busy brain like yours requires rest, come here, let me try something." She wiggled her fingers at him and smiled widely.
Tech cocked his head, regarding her curiously, eyes bright with affection, but he shook his head. "You need sleep more than I do currently. Try to go back to sleep.”
She rolled her eyes, reaching out to lightly tug on his arm.“So just return the favor when it's my turn. Come here…"
"Alright-" The datapad was set to the side, forgotten, and Tech allowed himself to be pulled down gently, head resting on her lap. Tay's hands gently removed his goggles and set them aside, followed by a gentle kiss pressed to his forehead. He let out a relieved sigh as Tay gently massaged his temples, forehead, and down his neck. She watched as his face softened and relaxed and his breathing slowed. Tayla ran her fingers gently over Tech’s line one last time, pressed a final kiss to his temple, before adjusting to where she could curl into Tech’s sleeping form. “Good night, my starman.”
*IDK why, but I've taken to thinking of this song in relation to Tech.*
*I promise there's more, I just struggle with putting it all together.*
A little Tech x OC snippet I was inspired to write. This is assuming the OC and Tech are in an established relationship, ofc. I love Tech but I doubt he'd be so smooth at the start of one...
Feel free to read it if you want. 🤷♀️😅
Tech sat hunched over his makeshift workbench next to the Marauder soldering and tinkering, with an intense scrunch of his brow. The bench was littered with wires, baubles, and odds and ends, the workspace strewn about with the evidence of a long day of working.
"Tech, are you still working!?" Tayla closes the distance between the ramp and Tech's hunched form, “Come on Tech, you need to take a break."
"I am fine." Brown eyes flick up only briefly before returning to the project at hand.
She sighs and leans back against the workbench"You’ve been working on your project all day.”
“That is because my project is intended to modify hyperdrive functionality to improve the speed of transition from standard light to hyperspeed by 3.75%." He finally looks up, hand reaching to push his goggles back, "I must be precise.”
“And the hyperdrive is working just fine while we’re grounded and off mission. It can wait. -Besides, you’ve eaten less than half a ration bar all day!” Tayla holds up the offending half-eaten bar which Tech pointedly avoids acknowledging.
“This is a delicate process that requires a great deal of focus. I do not have time to stop. If you are hungry, please do not wait for me.” Tech resumes his soldering and Tay could swear it was somehow louder.
She reaches a hand and gently places it upon his back, leaning in close, just barely avoiding touching his ear and whispers, “Then maybe what you need is a sufficient distraction.”
To his credit, the soldering stops only briefly before Tech clears his throat, “Uh..no. A distraction is the last thing that I need. Whatever you’re planning,Tay, it can wait.” With that, he shifts his body to angle it ever so slightly away. Dismissed.
Tayla straightens up from leaning against the worktable and, with a shake of her head, mumbles, “Unbelievable.”
She found herself pacing not far away from the Marauder's landing pad. She could hear the almost rhythmic buzzing of Tech's tinkering to her right, making her lips curl up slightly in a smile. Worker droids were going about their business lifting and transporting crates, cleaning, and doing minor maintenance. The occasional humanoid mechanic or maintenance worker passing by with just a glance or nod in her direction.
“You look like you’re waiting for someone.” The voice very nearly startled her. Behind and to her left was Toggo, one of the regular mechanics at this station.
Tay offered him a wry smile, “Do I? -I supposed I could be waiting for someone.”
He took a couple direct steps closer, leaning into Tay's space slightly, “Could be that I’m the one you’re waiting for.” The rhythm of the buzzing from Tays right halted abruptly before resuming.
With a smirk and a wink she responded, looking just over Toggo's shoulder to where she could see Tech at his workbench, "Anything's possible…"
Toggo took this as encouragement and continued, "Someone as beautiful as you shouldn't be left waiting. Why don't we go grab a drink, I can make it worth your while."
Once again the buzzing stopped. Tech's gaze was focused at them, brows pulled together now in a different sort of intensity.
Keeping her gaze locked with Tech's she responded, with a little more animation than was strictly necessary, “Oh! In that case, what would you have planned for me?”
Tayla's eyes quickly shifted when Toggo placed a hand on her arm, attempting to direct the two of them into motion, “Who needs a plan? I’m sure we can figure things out along the way.”
She pulled her arm away from his hand rather quickly with a slight frown, “How about we keep things simple and-”
A tall figure leaned over her, intense brown eyes catching hers once again, “Did I keep you waiting long?”
Poor Toggo made one shallow attempt to keep the attention, “Wait- We were talking here, pal.”
Tech straightened up and adjusted his goggles with one long finger, “I suppose you were.” He took a step forward and his deep voice darkened, “However, you are no longer required. You can move along.”
Toggo's eyes widened, he gulped and nodded before retreating quickly.
Tay simply shrugged, “Well, he wasn’t wrong. I was waiting on someone.” Tech didn't respond but simply fixed her with his intense brown eyes. Blushing, she cleared her throat, “Hm. I thought you were working on modifying the hyperdrive. It’s a delicate process, you can’t afford to be distracted.” She fixed him with a long stare.
He rewarded her with a smirk and closed the already short distance between them. “It seems there is something else that requires more immediate attention.” He placed one hand around her waist and pulled her flush against him.
With an excited squeak, Tay's hands came up to rest upon his chest, “Oh! And what would that be exactly?”
Tech rolled his eyes, but smiled, “Would you like a lecture or would you prefer a more practical demonstration?” reaching up to grab her chin and gently tilt it upwards.
“Well, I always have been a hands-on learner.”
“Then, please, do pay attention.” With that he leans in and leaves the barest, softest, ghost of a kiss on her lips, then pulls away.
Tay sucks in a breath and almost involuntarily grabs fistfulls of his shirt to pull him back in.
Tech chuckles, just a breath of distance remaining,“I can tease too, you know.” As if to punctuate his statement he kisses her fully, soft but insistent.
-And I will leave the rest up to your imagination, darlings.
