So, my one manager at work is seriously the raddest dude of them all. This is the DNB duo that he is one-half of, Against The Grain, doin' their thing. They're participating in a contest to play the main stage at the 2013 Come Up Festival! The artist with the most views wins and I know it would mean so much to him/them if they won, so you should give it a quick watch/listen! (or y'know watch it multiple times, too, that'd be awesome~ ;D)
Against The Grain's bio:
Against The Grain began in the summer of 2011 when Drum & Bass DJ's Perfect Solution and Trippen teamed up to bring a little something more to the tables. Perfect Solution and Trippen, aside from their solo performances, began playing back-to-back and tag sets in 2006, playing the entire spectrum of Drum and Bass - everything from liquid-funk to tech-step; from jump-up to straight up dance floor smashers. They spent the next 5 years honing their skills as a duo and playing opening slots for the likes of DJ Craze, Dylan, Skynet, J Smooth and Mike Advance. Against The Grain represent the Sector One crew out of Northeast Pennsylvania along with other like-minded artists, such as Basixx, Aspect, Diesis-I amongst others. Not satisfied with just playing tunes, they decided to raise the bar of their peers and step their own game up by incorporating sampling, effects and turntablism into their DJ sets. Mixing these ingredients into their routine has assisted them in creating staggering mixes that work as well on the dance floor as they do in the car, winning over and the most cynical of Junglists. Trends come and go, but Against The Grain have always and will keep on pushing the sounds of Drum & Bass.
