she wanted to catch the sunrise every morning on this trip and always just missed it. one morning I just happened to have my shades open in my room at the hotel and I yelled "mom! mom! your sunrise!" she was already up bc she couldn't sleep so she finally caught her sunrise, and I had to catch her catching it ❤️

I understand that most normal functioning brains need regular engagement to maintain a bond. Absence doesn’t diminish my affection. My silence isn’t neglect or disinterest. It’s time blindness and object impermanence. The contact gap is purely neurological, not emotional. Thank you for being patient with my inconsistency and holding a seat in your heart for me.
i love people. i love silly little rituals they perform, food they cook for one another, how they cry in each other's arms and hold each other's hands. i love how they make art for each other, how they write books in the name of each other, how they wake up every day with someone they love nestled in their heart. i love people, man, i love people so much
