i was looking at my fic idea notes and

speaking of convoluted family trees, im trying to map out my version of the mythology and what i want from it. im aware this is the most basic bitch ass interpretation of the family line (not including the rest of the ennead because other than the whole "whos your daddy" type of story line with anubis) its pretty self explanatory

(asterisks mean i havent finalizing a design for them yet)

just some notes on this diagram because i love explaining:

- ive decided to group bastet, sekhmet, and hathor as a little sister group. in most recollections of the myth bastet and hathor are daughters of ra (all three of them are somehow listed as also being ra's consorts. which i get for hathor but why the other two), but for here i wanted them to be related but not through ra, but through sekhmet since the most important aspect of their character is being the calmer, softer side(s) of her.

- also i made sekhmet the oldest, hathor the middle child, and bastet the youngest in this trio lol

- i also opted to not make hathor ra's consort because i dont personally see ra being with anyone (other creator gods (often) do have female counterparts, i.e ptah with sekhmet, the ogdoad, thoth and ma'at, etc). i just think its a fun dynamic if he had all of these children by himself (mostly daughters too, poor shu)

Alabaster lifted his head from the cup he was drying off, sighing once he saw who the customer was, "Welcome to Black's Coffee."

"One dark coffee, lots of milk, no sugar," Annabeth Chase repeated her order, leaning on the counter to give him a shit eating grin. "And throw in one of the today's pastries too, would you?"

He rolled his eyes. How the two heroes of Olympus had found him in Keeseville, or his job, in the first place he didn't know? Though that wasn't more baffling than, say... the fact that they seemed adamant on ignoring his murder attempts on Perseus whenever he was off-clock and becoming the late Burly Black's coffee shop's regulars instead.

Whatever. It was not like he was going to stay in Keeseville much longer than his research required. He could play into whatever normal mortals fantasy the couple had going on in the meantime.

"Where's your second?" He turned his head round to ask while preparing the machines.

Annabeth just batted her eyes at him, her grin growing wider, "Have I told you that new haircut makes you look cuter?"

Feeling heat crept to his cheeks, Alabaster coughed into his fist, "Oh, uhm, thank you."

Magic, like the gods, was based on belief. If Alabaster concentrated hard, he could see the Mist veiled over the mortals's eyes take physical form, could how they pooled over next to Annabeth.

He reached over to take the baseball cap off the hidden man's head.

"She's right, you are extra cute today." Perseus rubbed his nape as the magic keeping him invisible washed of off him. Pity, it seemed Alabaster hadn't left a scar as deep as he thought on his archenemy's throat with his knife.

"Order?" He hissed, wiping his sweaty palms on his apron.

"Whatever has the most sugar in it." Percy finger gunned.

Alabaster sighed pointedly, returning to the orders while the couple chatted.

"The purple shirt must be new."

"Mhm, better than the double grey combo, don'tcha think?"

"Brings out those handsome green eyes of his."

Alabaster took a deep breath, hiding his aflame face inside his shaking hands.

They were doing this deliberately.

"One black coffee with milk and dark chocolate cake for Feather Brain and the worst sugar monstrosity I've ever created for Jackass." He slammed the orders on the counter, "I'm clocking off."

"Hey, why do I gotta be jackass? Why can't I be fish gills or something?"

Annabeth’s hand wrapped around his wrist to pull him close, their noses almost touching. Lips almost brushing against eachother's. "Join us, then?"

Alabaster's gaze flitted between her huge, shining grey eyes and the way the light bounced off the soft, dark curls falling over Perseus's forehead.

He was so going to regret joining on their date, when he actually had a proper amount of sleep, wasn't he..?
