Traveling is fun, traveling is refreshing and is probably a form of adventure everyone craves for. Traveling is just like a wild ride, where you roam, you learn, and you experience the amazing picturesque world has got to offer.

sometimes when i try to play youtube videos that people have posted on facebook, instead of the video appearing, the space just turns white with the word 'Success' in black in the top left corner. probably just a glitch because i literally never update anything on my technologies unless i'm forced to. but i always think hehehe goddamn. there is some evil human whose used his super technology skills to fuck with the html or the code or something in the video because he gets pleasure out of knowing his programming causes people to suffer small disappointments like having to take an extra two seconds to open and load the video on youtube in a separate window. woah this post regards facebook, tumblr, and youtube. there is an oligopoly on the attention of users on the internet in North America.
@#$%&! Yeah!
After experiencing frustration trying to use TAP to prototype an iPad app, I've turned to Keynote (big thanks to Sera for reminding me at 4am that Keynote is available on iOS!). I'm able to simulate a smoke & mirrors version of a working prototype of the Contextus app on an iPad, complete with nifty animations and transitions, much like I did for You Are Here, my final project for Public Interfaces class last semester. The video above simply shows two wireframe screen transitions. There is a noticeable delay between screens when Keynote is first launched, but it becomes smoother with any subsequent use. Now the plan will be to finish visual design, storyboard my video in detail, build all of the screens and animations and have my actors use the iPad in location. Its a big relief not having to add animations post-production, à la After Effects.
Death of the screen
Related to the device below, OmniTouch turns nearly any surface into a touch screen interface. Essentially it is a Kinect camera mounted on the user's shoulder that both projects an image and detects user manipulations conducted in that space. This seems to bridge the benefits of mobility with the potential for large-scale displays.
SMSlingshot is an inspiring example of technology and design that facilitates interaction between people and their shared environment.
