i feel like history class for kids these days should involve talking about old technology like gramophones and record players and typewriters. everything that led to the development of the smartphone that we have today. I saw my grandpa had one of those really old pencil sharpeners on his desk, the ones that would be attached to the wall in schools and you’d have to manually turn the lever and you’d always hit your knuckle on the wall, and i just got to taking with him about it. I don’t want to say kids these days take things for granted, but things can just come so easily to them now and they don’t know anything about old technology. like i remember a vid of parents showing their kids a normal phone with only a number pad, or a small flip phone, and the kids had no idea they were phones at all. maybe its just me but i find that so crazy. technology has progressed so far so quickly. it’d be nice to show kids where it all started so they could really appreciate having such advanced technology like the smartphone.
