Important win for fair use and for babies who dance

Appeals court in San Francisco rules that a rights holder must consider whether a use is fair before sending a takedown notice.

No, copyright holders, you cannot just send take down notices willy-nilly, but must, in fact, consider whether the usage is fair use.

Do you think I can convince my school district to move away from the crazy expensive and way to feature rich Microsoft suite to Google Docs? Yeah, I'm not confident I can either, but I'm going to try. Young Pinocchio has a project he started at school in Word and saved off to his drive in school. Well, now he can't work on it at home because 1) he doesn't know how to get it onto his flash drive and move it back and forth and 2) I am unwilling to purchase Microsoft applications for my home computer.

I'm not feeling well enough to have enough patience to wrestle with Verizon. The set box will not turn on. I tried to log on and "talk" to someone. Only, my password doesn't work and now my account is locked. I went to reset the password and I need my account number. Only I get my bill on-line and the email reminder doesn't include the account number and thus I can't get to the account number, as it is stuck behind my locked account.

I am now more than a little bit grumpy.

I really wish my computer was smart enough to understand that the window I'm looking at should be active. It is a bummer that in 2014 I still have to move my mouse and click to make a window active.

What in the world did families do before they could share directories and calendars through Google? :-)

Last night, Grandpa was watching Pioneers of American Television on PBS.  The Young Man looked up and said, "Hey, look.  It's George, um, George, um ..."

I volunteered, "Takei.".

"Yeah," the Young Man said.

"How do we know him?" the Big Girl asked.

The Young Man responded, "Facebook."

I guffawed. :-)  Guess I need to force them to watch more Star Trek.

Hmm ... someone was using it this morning.

The last application I used before closing my eyes was the Kindle app.

However, when I just opened it up to add a new account and password to my password keeper, The Simpsons Tapped Out was open.

Hmm ...

I am doing battle with Excel today.

And, I am losing.
