Technopath headcanons! Not counting the Warforged au
Sorry for my lack of existence anygays here's my headcanons about technopaths
When they're tired, they'll sometimes blur elf speak and tech speak, so their speech sounds like a blend of indistinguishable babble and binary code and dial-up sounds
A really powerful technopath can convince simple devices to carry out simple tasks by themselves instead of the technopath having to do that. what it looks like to others is a technopath walking into a room, staring at a lightbulb for a few seconds, and then the lightbulb turning on on its own
When they're trying really hard, instead of just having glowing runes, their fingertips and veins will also glow.
They're more likely to be autistic than other elves because their brains are wired to communicate with tech
Radios sometimes project directly into their heads (like they'll hear radio transmissions inside their minds)
They can't pass RE-CAPTCHA (Are you a robot?) tests because their brains won't let them
They're better at using ancient tools than modern tech
They're considered very sentimental and can sometimes become hoarders, as they have a hard time letting go of material objects due to being able to communicate with certain objects
In their ability sessions, young technopaths spend a long time learning how to draw so that they can make good blueprints
They can also see visual blueprints in their minds
Technopaths can handle higher voltages than most elves, but not nearly as much as Chargers can tolerate
Similar to how Sophie projects memories into her journal, technopaths can project memories onto screens with the proper training
Technopaths are often dyslexic (difficulty writing and reading) because their brains are wired for tech speak
They're also often fidgety with their hands, and find comfort when holding tech pieces like gears or wires, even if they aren't actively building with them
AI feels weird to them -- because it's meant to interface with normal people, when technopaths try to interface with it, they end up feeling like they're interacting with a machine that acts more like a person. tech that doesn't act like tech. Most technopaths avoid it, but some are drawn to play with it more.
Even if a device is turned off, they can sense where it is, meaning you can't hide secret switches or devices from them if they're in the room with you
With a lot of struggle, powerful technopaths can temporarily "enter" another gadget, a lot like how Fitz and sophie can enter people's minds
Similar to the lightbulb one if they had phones they could text without touching the screen (this would be easier for them than the lightbulb thing, so most technopaths would be able to do this no matter their skill level)
That's all :] what are your headcanons for quirks of other abilities like phasing or inflicting?
Imagine if being a technopath isn’t an actual ability?
Instead the first technopath was a talentless elf who was really good with tech. They went to foxfire and when they realized they were talentless and would probably get thrown out of school they made up the lie that their tech skills were actually an ability. The nobility believed them.
Other tech smart people began to say they manifested as a technopath. Some were also talentless. Some just thought they were talentless even though if they hadn’t said they already manifested they would have manifested a softens ability.
Eventually people people who say they manifested are 100% sincere that they believed they were technopath. Occasionally one talentless tech smart elf would come along a lie about it to stay in school but most believed that they actually have a special ability.
Dex is one of those people. But when keefe goes to test him and other technopath s so he know what to look for in future technopath kids he realizes they’re all talentless. Instead of telling the council and actrosizing multiple people he lies to them. To most of the general public except his friends. Including Dex.
After a while to let the revelation sink in Dex and Keefe work together so whenever Keefe finds a talentless kid. Dex teaches they about technology. So that they don’t have to live on the socially outcast. Keefe obviously can’t test everyone. Testing most talents make him feel extremely uncomfortable. So talentless people who don’t lie about being technopaths still exist. But Keefe and Dex help those they can.
*shows u official declaration* Technopath Day has been shifted to January 8 th
is that right... I'm down.
But is the rest of the greater fandom council down?
technopath day can be officially changed to January 8th if this post gets more than 10 notes :P
This is how technopaths work.
Here’s another aesthetic, this one for Dex! I’m quite proud of this one, I hope that you like it :)
As always, feel free to reblog, just give me credit.
I take requests!
P.S. could someone explain to me how to make a tag list? or a good website that’ll tell me how?
Spyder Topic 2
I know this one is going to be way longer then the first so let’s make this intro short..
Season 2 of every Spyder moment where he not so subtly revealed some information about his past aka “The Ultimate Spyder Angst Post Part 2″
P.S. There will be less text in this post because there will be so many gifs.
To any Mech X4 fans out there...
I’m at a weeklong camp (no phone policy and in a different country) so I won't be able to watch the new episode until Saturday night : (
So while I won’t be active, I’d love to see a ton of posts when I get home--even if you don’t normally post Mech X4 stuff! LET’S EXPAND THIS HASHTAG AND THIS FANDOM! : )
