Wanted to show my love and appreciation for the OG Cast who brought these iconic and memorable characters to life and I'll forever be saddened and frustrated by how the recasting situation was handled back in 2006 and how most of the VA's were treated, they will ALWAYS be these characters. 💗🫶 And although I've watched some of the other Anipoke media (& Seasons) with the recasting voices and have given them a chance, I'm not a fan of either of them tbh. They're all talented in their own right don't get me wrong but they just kinda lacked the same charisma, energy and charm that the OG VA's had and it just didn't feel the same without them, the only VA change I don't mind is Sarah as she improved as time went on and made Ash her own, and did her own unique spin with him which I do appreciate as it was something different but as for the other voice changes, I'm still not a fan of the them at all and it's really such a downgrade from what the original cast brought, imo.
But even years after the recasting that happened, these VA's are still loved, praised and appreciated for their roles on Pokemon and how much energy and love they poured and put into voicing these characters, you can truly tell all these VA's truly cared about the characters and wanted to add more to them when voicing them, whenever I'm reading any fanfics or watching any Anipoke media, these are the voices I still hear in my head almost all the time. They all truly stole the show and made these characters who they are, which warms my heart as I'll forever cherish these guys and what they brought to the table when voicing these iconic characters and the OG's will honestly never be replaced and they'll always be the best, they'll always be the very best, like no one ever was! ❤️💫

After coming across a video on YouTube comparing the three voices, my curiosity got piqued, and now I can’t help but wonder: Who’s your favorite English dub VA for James?

Before I ever played a Kirby game to completion, I saw Kirby in playthroughs of his games online. I also saw him in his anime, Kirby right back at ya! Based on my memories, I at least saw 10 episodes of that show. And I mean...it's Kirby. He's so cute, I don't understand how anyone can hate him. His games tend to have final bosses that skin me and traumatize me, but Kirby himself? He's a good little star warrior. Just a little glutton who'd eat anything and who has the behavior patterns of a small child. Absolutely adorable. Kirby is the definition of what cute is to me.
I rewatched one episode of his anime today, because I had to kill time until my dad got home from work. My thoughts? Kirby is adorable (as always), King Dedede sounds like he's from New Orleans, Meta Knight sounds like what I assume (as someone who's never seen the Princess Bride) Inigo Montoya sounds like. Whenever I'm reading and I want to use that accent of a spanish warrior, I just impersonate Meta Knight. Chef Kowasaki sounds like the old comedian Ed Wynn (who's been dead since the 60s, but who people still seem to do impressions of because of things like his role as the mad hatter in disney's original alice in wonderland). There's a couple of characters in the english dub who sound like dead comedians to me. Escargoon sounds like Paul Lynde (from what little I've heard of Paul Lynde) to me.
I don't know the whole cast for the anime. But I know there's some overlap with Pokemon. Maddie Blaustein, Eric Stuart and Ted Lewis are the three I know were in both. And I'd say Pokemon, Kirby right back at ya! and Yo-Kai Watch are the only animes I've ever seen. 2 of those 3 share a cast, so I guess that's something.
My dad will be home from work soon. I'm really tired. I woke up at 3:50 am today. We leave for my therapy appointment in a little bit, but I'm just really tired from waking up this early in the morning. Still, I should be able to make the appointment work. Keyword being should be.
