Harry wasn't sure he knew how to keep promises. Draco shows him he doesn't have to be afraid to make new ones. It takes decades but maybe Harry can be ok with breaking one more.

Author's Note: Mind the tags, they are there for a reason. This is meant to be a prequel to Rose trees by Nerakrose that explores the decades of relationship from Harry's perspective. Thank you Nerakrose for writing a feelgood death fic that pushed me to explore near a century of relationship to make it worse. Also thank you R for going over it so I could make the deadline. Special mention to the mods that were infinitely patient with me and always work behind the curtains to make fests a success and a general fun time for everybody involved.

Summary: When Hermione sets up a diplomatic mission to begin repairing the damage British colonisation did to Indian magical communities Harry isn’t going to pass on the opportunity to visit and help his family’s home country. Maybe he should have asked a few more questions about the personnel she had recruited for it before signing on because Malfoy surely has an ulterior motive to be there.

Or

Harry goes back to India to rediscover some of his lost roots. He meets Malfoy there. Hijinks ensue!

Author's Note: Hoooooooooo boy. Tedah, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed reading and remixing this fic. As soon as I started reading the original, I knew I *had* to remix from Harry's point of view, and then when I got to the end? I definitely had to remix from his point of view.
