@the-mighty-sorceress agreed to let me punch Teddy. Teddy might be ooc, I apologize.
Aiden wasn’t feeling well this morning. Marcus only knew because he had a surgical mask on.
‘Too much?’ he signed slowly, trying to recall the words he was supposed to use. He wasn’t much good with ASL but he was learning because Aiden had low noise days and he was worried today was one of them.
‘Just smell,’ Aiden replied, almost too quickly, ‘but I don’t feel like I can talk. You can.’
“I don’t think anyone would understand you if you could,” Marcus commented.
‘You’re funny.’
Marcus smirked and looked away to take out a notebook.
“Don’t sign when I’m not looking,” Marcus commented, looking at Aiden, who quickly lowered his hands like he hadn’t been signing “teddy bear” on repeat when Marcus wasn’t looking. It wasn’t like he didn’t know what it meant, but he was fairly certain he didn’t want to hear.
“Got an appointment doc?” Teddy Krank swung around Marcus’s desk and sat down behind Aiden, “You gotta tell me one day why you wear that sometimes.”
‘Actually Teddy,’ Todd began, but Teddy excitedly cut him off.
“Is it because of some cool thing with your dad?” he asked.
“Aiden’s not talking today,” Marcus commented, part to the teacher as she walked in, part to Teddy.
“Not a good day?” the teacher guessed, Aiden nodded.
“I think they’re doing something in the sewers near his house,” someone commented. Aiden nodded quickly and leaned forwards, resting his chin on his desk.
“Take it slow Aiden, go to the nurse if you really don’t feel up to it, okay?”
Aiden nodded, slowly signing ‘yes’ with one hand. Teddy looked outright confused, which he usually did when Aiden had a bad day.
The teacher began the lesson as normal until Marcus heard a faint scraping from Teddy. For some reason beyond Marcus, he was using the sharp edge of the desk to scrap the paint off of his pencil. Aiden looked about ready to scream.
“Teddy,” Marcus hissed, “Stop doing that.”
“I’m not bothering anyone,” Teddy retorted.
“You’re bothering Aiden,” Marcus nodded to Aiden, who was frantically tapping his fingers on his desk.
“No I’m not,” Teddy countered.
Marcus groaned and turned back to the board.
After a few more minutes Aiden rapped on the desk three times, quickly, and the teacher turned around, looking a little tired, but as if she expected this to happen.
“Mr. Krank, please stop making so much noise.”
“I’m not making much noise.”
“I told you,” Marcus snapped, “you’re bothering Aiden.”
“He can deal.”
“No, he can’t.”
“Will you stop nagging me? Maybe this is what it feels like to be Arnold Wesker.”
Marcus stood and grabbed Teddy’s shirt.
“If you really wanna know, how about I beat you senseless? Sound like a fun time?” Marcus snarled.
The teacher cleared her throat loudly.
“I think you both know where to go,” she said, “Principal’s office, and no stops Mr. Wesker.”
Marcus stormed out the door and down the hall, Teddy behind him.
“Sorry,” he said, “I didn’t mean to.”
“Forget it,” Marcus snapped.
“I mean it!” Teddy insisted, “It was just a joke.”
Marcus whirled around and punched Teddy square in the nose. Teddy hit the ground with a hard thud, and quickly moved to cover his nose. He looked about ready to cry.
“When are you gonna learn not to make jokes about people’s parents?” Marcus asked, “When are you gonna learn that sometimes you’re not funny? WHEN ARE YOU GONNA GROW THE FUCK UP AND STOP PLAYING AROUND?”
Marcus turned and continued down the hall, muttering under his breath, “Oops, I stopped.”
Okay so sometimes I jot down random dialogue or paragraphs that I think of, otherwise I lose them almost immediately. I haven’t posted anything roguesmol related in a while so I thought why not? The first is kinda funny and the first is kinda sad and angsty.
Cosmo disappears (Episode – ‘Misplaced’)
Todd pressed answer and immediately it was like someone had opened up the flood gates to near-screech shouting.
“Oh my god he’s gone, Pop’s gone he just disappeared!”
“What? What do you mean?”
“We were just sitting here and he vanished! Oh my god Todd, I don’t know what to do, maybe he was taken or kidnapped or teleported or something but we have to find him, we have to-“
“Teddy! Teddy, calm down.” Todd told him.
“TODD MY DAD IS MISSING I WILL NOT CALM THE FUCK DOWN.”
Wow. If only Teddy’s dad had been there to tell him off for swearing.
This one’s a little disjointed, I have the dialogue but not actions

I wasn’t strong enough! I didn’t sacrifice myself like Aqualad or, fight in the final attack like Superboy or Dorothy or any of the others!
Even when Artemis died, I sat there and made jokes, just like I always do! Wally looked like he was about to kill me, ‘cause I’m an idiot!
…I haven’t seen my old man in days. I haven’t even been home. I don’t wanna face Pop, don’t wanna have to think about…what it would be like if something happened to me.
I just don’t think he could handle it. Losing Mom and then losing me, he wouldn’t be able to stand losing everyone in his life.
No one thinks you’re an idiot, Thomas.
You sure? Wally sure looked like he did.
Look, sometimes you can be…a bit immature, but you’re also resourceful, you’re also a quick thinker. Your heart and your laughter helps drive the team, gives them hope. You bring them back up again, Teddy.
Yeah, well *chuckle* what other choice is there? Batman’s dark and brooding killjoy attitude?

Title: That Purple-Haired Nuisance
Summary: Teddy goes for a walk. But nothing’s ever that easy, is it?
Author’s Note: Melissa and Alexander Fugate are now officially added. Plus I really wanted to write something with Teddy. Not like it’s the meanest thing I’ve done to him all week, now is it?
Gotham City was a weird place.
It was a place where a teenager dressed in bright purple and yellow could walk down the street with a man-sized robot bird walking alongside him, and no one gave it a second thought.
Teddy had his hands in his pockets, looking around with a faint smile.
Everyone else had decided to take a road trip to Metropolis, and his dad obviously hadn’t let him go. Probably had something to do with the fact that Teddy had almost crashed into a building the last time he and Todd were left unsupervised.
Teddy turned a corner.
Where could he go? He could always find out where Crash lived and show her who the real video game king was. Heck, her dad might have even been glad to see him.
“What do you think, Chicky?” Teddy questioned, “A little Sonic and Mario at the Olympics action?” Chicky-Loo remained silent, and Teddy smiled.
Probably better not to. It was rude to break into a house without at least being invited first.
Teddy chuckled to himself. A girl walked past him, scowling with her hands elbow-deep in her pockets. As she passed she bumped his shoulder roughly.
“Watch it!” She snapped. Teddy looked around at her before smiling again. Wasn’t that…?
“No pun intended, right Tick Tock?” He called. She didn’t answer, and he shrugged before continuing. As he rounded another corner he heard shouting and the sound of breaking glass up ahead, and Teddy’s smile widened to a grin.
“Chicky-Loo, follow.” He instructed and broke into a jog.
Please be Joker please be Joker please be Joker-
As he neared the store that was being broken into, Teddy could see that it was only a small group of guys in ski masks. He slowed down, grin fading a little in disappointment.
“You know what they say, black is the new black.” Teddy remarked, and one of the guys looked at him.
“Beat it, kid!” He snapped. Sirens blared in the distance and Teddy gave an exaggerated turn to look in the direction it was coming from.
“Well, looks like you guys aren’t getting home tonight.”
“Oh really?”
An arm was suddenly wrapped around his throat and Teddy let out a strangled shout of surprise as the thug, who Teddy was now calling Thing One, held him against him like a human shield. Thing One turned to gesture to the others with a quick nod of his head.
“Let’s go.” He dragged Teddy along as they moved towards their escape route, the others carrying TVs and movie players.
“Let go!” Teddy shouted, clawing at Thing One’s arm, “I was joking, come on, no hard feelings?”
“Shut up, kid.” Thing One hissed, tightening his grip. Teddy gagged, feeling his sneakers skidding uselessly against the pavement, and he looked up before pulling the arm away just enough to breath.
“Chicky-Loo!” He shouted, “Attack mode!” Immediately the giant toy buzzed, beak becoming serrated and wings becoming razor sharp. She turned her head and immediately ran after them, and Teddy had to stop himself from cracking up.
His dad had programmed her with the goddamn Naruto run.
“What the-“ Thing Two exclaimed, and Thing One’s eyes widened before moving faster.
Um, ow. Pretty sure the point of the hostage was to be unharmed enough to be worth saving, guys!
Teddy squirmed frantically, unconcerned about Chicky-Loo’s weapons as she darted forward and slashed across Thing One’s arm. He cried out and Teddy elbowed him in the ribs and stamped on his foot, and the guy’s arm loosened enough for him to slip out.
“Oh no you-“ Thing One grabbed Teddy’s plait and yanked him back, and Teddy yelped before Chicky-Loo delivered another swipe across Thing One’s face. He fell back, screaming and clutching his face, and the others stared in shock.
“Little tip; never try to mess with my hair.” Teddy informed them, and then he grinned devilishly, “You guys ever heard of the Toymaker?” Thing Two and Thing Three’s eyes widened and their faces fell.
“Oh shit.”
They ran, and Teddy laughed before turning to Chicky-Loo.
“Chicky-Loo, toy mode.” Her defensive stance relaxed, and her wings and beak returned to normal. Teddy heard the guys shout and he frowned as he turned, but immediately his eyes widened.
Thing Three yelped as a batarang sent him sprawling, and Thing Two tried a punch but it was easily dodged and returned much more accurately.
“Holy shoot.” Teddy beamed. Batman frowned at the two semi-conscious burglars before looking up, and he stopped. Teddy bounded forward, practically bouncing on his heels.
“Bats! Good to see ya! How you been?” He questioned, grinning again. Batman glanced at Chicky-Loo, and then back to Teddy.
“Thomas Krank. Cosmo’s son.”
“Teddy, Bats.” Teddy pointed a finger, “You wouldn’t want me using some of the more colourful names I’ve heard you called, now would you?”
“You were at the Wayne Tech press conference. You were the one who attacked Bruce Wayne.”
“Technically I just punched him. In the face.” Teddy corrected, and then chuckled, “Surprised pretty-boy Wayne was able to get a date after that. I don’t know if you know this but, you know, I kick some serious tail when I want to.” Batman raised an eyebrow.
“Sure. You’re practically the next Robin.”
Teddy grinned wider.
“This is why Todd likes you.” Teddy leant against him, and he practically fell over when he saw what looked like concern pass through the ol’ big bad Bat’s eyes.
“What are you doing out here?” He gestured to the burglars, “You could have been hurt, or worse, killed.”
“I had it covered.” Teddy waved it away, “I always have Chicky-Loo.” Batman glanced at her again before looking back to Teddy, and he frowned slightly.
“Go home, Teddy, before I call your father.”
Teddy held a hand to his chest with a mock gasp.
“You wouldn’t.”
“I would. You’re still in trouble for what you did to Wayne.”
“He had it coming!” Teddy reasoned. When Batman didn’t say anything, Teddy rolled his eyes and stepped away.
“Fine!” He walked back to Chicky-Loo, feigning outrage, and called back, “Make sure when the cops ask you tell them that the hostage was five foot five and took out one of the burglars!”
Batman frowned slightly.
“You’re only five feet tall.” He corrected.
“I can dream, Harold!” Teddy scoffed. He laughed and waved before turning around and heading back towards the main street.
“Chicky-Loo, follow!” Teddy grinned as she hurried to catch up with him, and he glanced at the store before slowly turning around and walking back in the direction he came from.
The Bat wasn’t that bad, for a grown man in a bat costume that ran about on rooftops and got a concussion three times a week.
Title: Teddy’s Mum
Summary: Teddy sees a picture of his mother, and he doesn’t react well
Author’s Note: I honestly am not sure about this one. Ta-da anyway, I guess. @lawful-evil-novelist
“I swear it was right here!”
“Well it’s obviously not.”
Teddy poked his head out from behind the TV, and he tilted his head to the side.
“No, you don’t say.” He said slowly. Todd frowned and once again shuffled through the stacks of different coloured disk cases in front of him.
Teddy had wanted to show off a new game that he had gotten that was apparently fantastic, but when Todd had arrived they couldn’t find it no matter where they looked.
“Did you look in your room?” Cosmo asked, using his phone as a flashlight to look under the couch.
“Because naturally I need something to snuggle with at night.” Teddy’s voice was muffled, but Todd knew he had that usual grin on his face that Max had threatened to slap off once or twice.
“It’s a brand new game!” Teddy continued, “I can’t believe you lost it!”
“Me?” Cosmo questioned, sitting up, and Teddy climbed back out.
“Yes, you.” Teddy teased as he brushed the dust out of his hair, “You think I would be so irresponsible?”
“Sport, you crashed one of my flyers into a building. Repeatedly.”
“The last one was a dumpster.” Teddy countered. Todd shook his head as the Kranks half-argued-half-teased each other, and he decided to give up on the mountain in front of him and rose to his feet. He looked around as Teddy and Cosmo seemed to reach an impasse and the former took over looking under the couch.
“Have you looked in the closet?” Todd questioned. He walked over, and as he opened the door Cosmo’s head suddenly shot up.
“Wait no no no don’t!” He jumped over the back of the couch in his sprint across the living room, then stopped with a grimace when he realised he didn’t make it in time.
“What’s this?” Todd pulled a small cardboard box from the bottom of the closet, open with a framed picture lying on the top. Todd pulled it out, looking over it. There was Cosmo, in the picture as best he could but apparently impaired by his short height. He was smiling widely, and the last hints of blue dye were fading from the tips of his hair. Beside him was a woman, taller, with curly brown hair framing her soft and princess-like features. Todd recognised those bright blue eyes, they were the same that Teddy had. Squished between the two adults was a much younger Teddy, hair short but still the same light purple nightmare it was today.
Todd turned around and realised that Teddy was now standing behind him, staring at the picture. His smile was completely gone.
Todd’s confusion ended instantly.
Teddy turned, and Cosmo’s expression softened as his son moved past him.
“Teddy, don’t-“ His voice was soft, but Teddy completely ignored him as he ran down the hallway and into his bedroom, locking the door behind him.
Todd’s eyes widened and he quickly stood and turned to Cosmo, who was looking down at the floor quietly.
“I didn’t know what was in the box.” He said quickly.
“I know.” Cosmo was still quiet. Todd looked at him warily, but Cosmo didn’t seem angry or even annoyed. He just…didn’t move.
“Will he come out? How long will he-“
“I don’t know.”
Todd glanced quickly between the hallway and Cosmo, frame still clutched tightly in his hands. Todd quickly put it back in the box, every movement panicked.
He knew very well that Teddy’s mom was always a touchy subject, but he honestly hadn’t known that Teddy would ever react like this.
Cosmo walked towards and through the hallway, and Todd quickly followed.
“Is there anything I can do to help?’ He asked, and Cosmo glanced back at him. The look on his face was a mix of sad, concerned, and a hint of the glare Todd had been expecting in the first place. Todd slowed his pace and frowned apologetically as Cosmo knocked softly on the door.
“Teddy?”
No answer.
Cosmo knocked again.
“Teddy, please,” He pleaded, “I love you, just come out.”
Still no answer. At least Todd could correct anyone who said Teddy Krank didn’t know how to be quiet.
Cosmo was looking worse by the minute; he held a hand to his face for a few moments before leaning closer towards the door.
“It wasn’t your fault.” He muttered, then returned his voice to its earlier volume, “Teddy please come out of there.” Cosmo and Todd both listened carefully, but Teddy didn’t answer. Cosmo sighed and stepped back, looking at Todd and shaking his head.
“It won’t work. He’ll come out eventually.” Cosmo tried a smile, but it looked forced, “Sorry Todd.”
“I don’t know why you’re apologising I’m the one that showed him the picture.” Todd remarked, then added, “Was everything in the box…?”
“Justine’s?” Cosmo questioned, and nodded, “Yep. She left it behind and I didn’t want Teddy to see them. You can probably see why.” Todd nodded, and Cosmo stepped past him to walk back to the kitchen. This time, Todd didn’t join him. He glanced nervously between the hallway and Teddy’s bedroom door, debating whether or not he should leave him. After a moment’s hesitation, he knocked on the door.
“Teddy? It’s Todd. Can I come in?”
No answer. Not that he was surprised. Todd looked over his shoulder to make sure Cosmo was out of earshot before continuing.
“Look whatever happened, it wasn’t your fault. You know that, right? And I get that you miss her. But you know, you don’t have to be alone like this. You’ve got your dad, and he’s cool,” Not to mention that he fully embraced the role of ‘corny dad’, “And you got me and the other rogue kids.” Todd waited, but nothing happened, and he frowned slightly. A thought occurred to him, and he smiled slightly.
“Oh come on Teddy, what will I do if you never come out? And honestly who’s going to tolerate your constant joking if I’m not here?” Todd teased, and knocked on the door as he exclaimed, “You said you had a slide in there! Don’t hold out on me!” Todd waited with a smile, and it widened as the lock slid away and the door opened just a fraction. Teddy peered out, and Todd leant in closer.
“Come on, you can do it. Jesus, this must have been what getting Glimmer out of her shell must have been like.”
Teddy snorted and disappeared from the gap, and Todd could hear him laughing loudly.
“Okay, okay…” Teddy opened the door all the way. He was grinning again, just like he usually was. You would never have guessed that he’d locked himself in his room just a few minutes earlier.
“Come on in.” Teddy nodded inside, and Todd smiled before walking in.
