So, back in 2023, @borealing wrote a little fic called gentle with me that featured a version of Ted Lasso who shifted into a literal teddy bear whenever he was anxious. This and the Build-a-Bear Ted Lasso are frequently why you’ll see Teddy Lasso art from artists like @pineappical or @cristinadrawss with a teddy bear version of Ted. Or my own goofy-highlighter snow teddy bear around Christmastime.

I had the silly idea to do Tedduary this year, celebrating all that art and that version of Ted. So if you’re seeing a Teddy Lasso renaissance, please know it’s an event you’re more than welcome to submit to, and can so HERE. There’s no real max or min or limits, really. Just. I think the goal was to write it in February. Just. Read the original fic (it’s pretty neat) and go from there.

Anyway, that means that naturally I’m bringing you the whumpiest one shot of my life.

“A Ted-dy bear.” Trent says aloud, then realises he is alone in the building and absolutely no one head that. He’s sort of grateful. “Who left you here?” Trent asks it absently, picking it up and adjusting its little collar, brushing gentle fingers over its moustache, then stroking a thumb over the neat point of its muzzle, then just holding it for a moment. It’s cute.
