a slightly mad interpretation of Teddy Picker that I can't get out of my head... (just for fun!)
I recently thought of the phrase "Teddy Picker" as rhyming slang for "dicker" - let's have a ride on the dick(er) (e.g. a person who dicks?) anyway... it's not strong, I'm aware! But I'm entertained by this idea, and I just can't stop the thoughts when I hear the song now... so I'm passing this infectious disease onto anyone who wants to read this - hoping you might enjoy as well!
To clarify - I love the lyrics to this song, and the mostly agreed upon message - the metaphor of the Teddy Picker as the pursuit of fame (a popular theme for AT),particularly the foolishness of gambling in a system that is rigged for players to lose far more often than win. And of being surprised when you don't win. Or winning and it's not all that great a prize anyway cos you've put $50 into a machine (and countless hours) to get a $5 stuffed toy....
It also includes clear innuendo (or even misdirection?) as being about someone "gagging for" sex, or maybe consider it a spoonful of sugar (a joke / entertainment) to make the medicine (the serious meaning) go down...
of course, everyone online seems to automatically assign this "gagging for it" to a woman. But my Teddy Dicker rhyming slang makes it all very different! And almost every line has SOMETHING to it! (See also "D is for Dangerous", hehehehe)
I present this as entertainment! I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do!

Of any poseur or professional pretender around A common theme for Alex - see many many other lyrics he has penned about 'pretending' etc over the last decades! Already thick and you're getting thicker - yes, again..! ... Presuming that all things are equal - could this be a nod to equality between sexualities? Who'd want to be men of the people When there's people like you? - of course I have always thought this is a diss on dickheads... but if you twist it a bit, it could mean "who'd want to be a man of the people just any normal guy, when there are they could be someone special to people like you"
I’ve seen some people mention that Alex always does a fidgety thing with his hands before he performs Teddy Licker but I’ve never seen it, do you know of any examples of this?

sorry ive never heard of this but i went and watched about 20 teddy picker performances and noticed that he almost always has his hands already on the fret board
except on these 2 occasions where he did the same thing
