Visual journalism assignment for The Commonwealth Times at the 2017 TEDxRVA event discussing the importance of Richmond remaining a sanctuary city. Panel members gave powerful reasons for fleeing their countries and how well they were received by not only locals but also local government. One included town-wide genocide while another’s parents forced their children’s escape to avoid being kidnapped by a terrorist regime to become part of their child army.
