Debuting Teekzi’s first official outfit change in 5 years, featuring the lovely filtered light of the new map and her trusty skyscale, Ivy!
I drew @portalentre‘s gremlin on a whim
I offered to make some fan art of the lovely Teekzi. first time Asuraing thankfully I had @mekashiyu to help me out with some proportions. funnnnnnnnn stuff asuras are hard ;(.
Some more new map lighting appreciation, this time with Teekzi’s raptor, Clover!
Something something style shift practice. I haven’t drawn Teekzi in a non-cartoony way in forever so behold a rat - a mouse, even!
Hark! Rats be upon ye! Another ancient thing dug up for Old Content October, I worked on these on and off from April to August of 2017 as the number of participants slowly grew. Inspired by the retro style of the Super Adventure Box, I had each of my friends pick an RPG class for their asura to be depicted as, and then had intended to color them simply and/or in a pixel style but lost steam after the sketch phase. Codenamed the ‘RPG Wee’ project, I maybe offhandedly mentioned it once ever but it never made its way past our guild discord as a series of WIPs. Technically though the sketches are all complete, so I think it’s well past time I show them off!
A quick list of friends and their chosen classes below the cut!
4, 5 and 7 for Teekzi. Also wanted to say I love your character page. Including the color channels for the outfits is a very nice idea.
Oh, thank you!!! I'm still filling out a lot of the details for characters but the base alone took a hot minute so I appreciate the love! ♥
4. Did they grow up with siblings? Yes! Teekzi has a younger sister, Nahrru! Younger, but not smaller, which Nahrru likes to gently tease her for whenever the opportunity arises. :P
5. What was their family life like? Probably fairly standard for asura - both her parents were wildlife researchers out in Metrica Province and tried to include her as much as possible, but realized they couldn't keep dropping her into harm's way constantly so they enrolled her in precollege as soon as they reasonably could. Once Nahrru was born she would help watch over her as well, to the point where her sister bonded more with her than their actual parents. Their parents still cared though, and were actually the ones to give them their first ranger pets to raise as literal 'pet projects' before they headed off to their respective colleges in the city.
7. Did they do well in school? Between her more nature-oriented upbringing and her being busy watching out for Nahrru, she did actually struggle to wrap her head around what her professors were trying to teach her throughout most of her precollege years. Once she found a way to process what they were going on about and developed a work ethic that stopped her from narrowly missing deadlines and/or letting work pile up, her talent for hands-on work and experimentation shone through. She ended up getting easily accepted into the College of Dynamics, where she met the krewe that would later go on to enter the Snaff Prize competition, kicking off her story as the Commander. :D
🌹🥀💫 for whatever character is on your mind!
@mystery-salad
I continue to have rats on the brain this evening so more Teekzi it is!
🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?
Though she obviously has her own lab along the cliffs surrounding Rata Sum, she’s spent so much time travelling that ‘home’ is more of a feeling than a place. Even so, she has a few places where that feeling is strongest, and she knows she can always return to to relax. Her lab is one of the lesser-visited examples, with more notable locations being the Lion’s Arch Aerodrome, the Eye of the North, and, weirdly enough, the Castaway Circus’s Lava Lounge in Ember Bay. OOC these are ‘parking spots’ I’ve grown to love and incorporated into her canon since I spend a lot of time idling in such places with her. :D
🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry?
On the outside it would look fairly basic aside from being worn down, while on the inside all the margins and other such spaces would be filled with absentminded doodles - a mix of geometric shapes and patterns interspersed with twisty, curly lines reminiscent of vines and leaves. They’d be slowly built out from a starting shape and creep across the pages until essentially overtaking the text itself. Meanwhile, the text itself would essentially boil down to quick notes and reminders, key words and phrases jotted down to be remembered at a glance - in general, very chaotic to those looking at it without the context of what or why, but making perfect sense to her, who already knows exactly where to look for what she needs.
💫 What is your favourite fact about this character and why?
There’s lots of little fun things, but probably the most rangery of them is that all her pets are canonically there and roaming around her lab in Rata Sum when not actively out travelling with her. Her krewe kinda just has to deal with all of them, plus all the cats, and also all the other random items she lugs in in her downtime, while trying to do their regular research. Eventually they started researching all the wild things she brings in instead, since those are far more interesting.
