Dia de los Muertos Skull Program

Our DIY Friday program celebrating Dia de los Muertos was a skull splitting smash!  We bought 24 plastic skulls from the Dollar Tree, spray painted them white so they would resemble traditional sugar skulls, and then decorated the heck outta them.  

At first they looked like this:

"Yes, I am buying 24 plastic skulls.  No, I am not a total weirdo.  I'm a librarian."

Then they looked like this:

DIY Friday Round-up

We had a bunch of great DIY Friday programs lately.  Here are a few of the highlights:

In other news, our kids were pretty psyched to get to make cross bows with Newton's Attic today.

Our Catching Fire program is coming up soon so this was a pretty appropriate DIY.
