Road to Nowhere || TeenTrades
So. This is hell. Trish Gothel stood in the parking lot of her new boarding school, her home away from home, as her father unloaded her bags from the car. Her mother hadn’t made the trip because she was working, and her father wanted to make sure she actually made it to the campus. Trish did not like the idea of a boarding school, she would much rather be completely focused on her pageants. That she could accomplish much easier from the comfort of home and finishing schooling from home. But her parents had insisted she get a proper education from a reputable school. They weren’t terribly subtle though, they were hoping that the boarding school would force her to settle down. Maybe it would change her mind about wanting to do pageants, though she’d been in them since she was very young. She adored them because it just drove home the facts that she already knew. She was gorgeous, and she could use that to her advantage. It was not in her intentions to stop now. She wasn’t an idiot, she knew pageants couldn’t last forever – but she wasn’t about to let go of a very nice payday and possible scholarships to get into the art schools she wanted to attend. The attention was nice too. Actually, the attention was the main reason for participating. She knew she deserved the recognition.
“Alright, sweetheart, let’s get to your room,” her father said, picking up the majority of her luggage. Trish took the final bag and slung it over her shoulder, taking in the surrounding area. At least the school was pretty. So far, it was the only thing it had going for it – seeing as she was basically forced into being there. She’d make the best of it though, once her father left. It wasn’t that she didn’t like her parents; it’s just that they were convinced that they knew exactly what she needed. If she had it her way, she wouldn’t be in a family. She was fairly certain she could handle this all on her own. It was something she was hoping to have a chance to prove. Her father helped her to her dorm room and offered to help her unpack. She waved him off, not wanting to prolong his obvious guilt ridden goodbye. There was an awkward hug in farewell and he was off. She sat on her bed with a sigh, looking across the room at the bed that probably belonged to some roommate that was notably absent. Grimacing, she eyed the small room, “Ugh. This place is horrible.” She unpacked enough to find a change of clothes, wanting to get out of the ones she traveled in. Pulling on a pair of shorts and a tank top, she tried to remember the way on the winding road. She’d been on campus for twenty minutes, but she already wanted to leave. Shoving some cash into her bra, she sauntered out of her room and out onto the grounds.
