Cryptid of the Day: Teggie

Description: Teggie, also known as Anghenfil, is a Welsh lake monster seen in Llyn Tegid (or Lake Bala). Descriptions vary, from a serpent with a soccer ball-shaped head, to a massive crocodile, to a plesiosaur similar to its Scottish counterpart. Sightings were first recorded in the 1970s.

I’m accepting prompts for:

Anything Bughead related that I’ve previously written, or have hinted at. Jones-Cooper-Smith Family fics, whether that be for my post season 4 AUs or something from the canon series. Also Falice, Choni, Varchie, Kangs, Teggie or friendships with Kevin/Betty and Archie/Jughead. I like Tabitha, Polly, Jellybean and Sweet Pea a lot too, so I’m open to fics about those characters.

I’m an absolute SIMP for family fics so by all means, I’m open to baby/kid fics.

Barchie as a romantic duo. Hard pass. Jabitha (unless it’s wholesome friendship Jabitha). Cheryl as a witch in the regular canon series (idk maybe I’ll consider a magical fic with the Blossoms and Sabrina but it’d need to be a pretty intriguing prompt haha). Hardcore smut (I could do some low-level stuff but nothing in my brain will make me unironically type ‘cock’ or ‘clit’. Sorry lads its just not for me, but yes I’ve probably read yours 😂).

in which tabitha and reggie fix the damn thing, part iii

She barely gets to see the setup before Betty arrives.

In point of fact, she glimpses scraps of paper taped to the walls, and that is essentially it. She had kept Jughead out of the kitchen, per Reggie's orders, telling him that there were tables to wait and not a lot of people ordering food.

He had grumbled, but complied. That was not the most awkward part, it turned out.

The most awkward part was kicking out the kindly old couple who were having what appeared to be the sweetest date night she'd ever seen, because they really needed the diner to be empty for Betty's arrival.

She does it, red-faced and awkward, and while she's telling them, the last waitress breezes by on her way out and tells her Betty Cooper called and said she's on her way. That statement has two effects, Jughead standing up straight so suddenly that several mugs clatter to the floor, and the couple looking at him, then registering the name, and slipping out with a very sly looking grin.

Mission accomplished, she supposes, but now she has a very panicked Jughead and Betty on her way. Quickly, she texts Betty to come right in and meet her in the kitchen, then shepherds Jughead behind the counter.

By this point, he's getting suspicious, especially as she pushes him into the back room and shuts the door behind them.

Jughead's looking at her for the first minute, but then his eyes flick to the walls, and both their jaws drop.

The first thought that crosses Tabitha's mind is that she's severely underestimated Reggie Mantle. The walls are coated in pictures, articles and items - upon closer inspection, they are pictures of Betty and Jughead. Hugging, kissing, just standing together, they littler the walls, and in every one, they are looking at each other with the most tender expression. Then there are the articles.

Reggie has also laid out a few items - a typewriter, two hoodies, a sweater with a crown on it, and what appear to be instructions to knit a wool beanie.

It's a marvel, but she barely has time to marvel before she hears a voice protesting outside and then Betty Cooper is shoved into the door, on Reggie's arm.

"Reggie, what the hell - Jug? What is this?"

Jughead stammers through a few vague syllables, and Reggie reaches his hand out to Tabitha, inclining his head at the door. She takes it without hestitation, and feels herself pulled to the exit. The key is fished out of her apron pocket quickly, and she turns to the very confused people in the room.

"Apologies, guys, but this is starting to get bad for business, and you'll thank us for this later."

Betty and Jughead both make various noises of protest and start towards them, but Reggie holds up a hand and pushes Jughead back.

"No excuses, Jones. Now, we want a full reunion, the entire talk, the works. Also, remember the door is not soundproof, but if you truly can't help yourselves, remember that Reginald is an excellent name for an oopsie baby. Later!"

And with that, they speed out the door, locking it behind them.

Teggie is a creature that is said to reside in Lake Bala of Northern Wales. Stories go that there are many Teggies in the waters of the lake, maybe a small group. Former lake warden, Dowie Bowen, claims to have seen one of these things, he said “it was at least 8 feet long, similar to a crocodile, with its front and rear ends about 4 inches above the water”. The first documented report was in 1975. Some believe that Teggie could be a pike and others believe it may be a seal.

the tabitha x reggie baby name suggestion: Agatha - so Reggie (who I hc as Korean bc the actor is part Korean) can call his baby the korean words for baby = 아가/애기 ( agga/eggy) and because Tabitha loves Agatha Christie. I'm excited to see this fic!
