Hmm... so, you know that thing they do when one has an idea and he opens with half a sentence and the other goes, "Gotcha", before adding more to it while not finishing his idea in so many words, because his partner latches on to add yet another twist to their half insane plan? That! Remember the scene where Zelenka is left behind bewildered over not being able to keep up? Imagine that WTF feeling times two, 'cause at some point the McShep doesn't even need to speak to talk - and flirt - with eachother. Maybe it's not an alien artifact biting them on the ass thing? Not a mission gone wrong either? Like it could start with Rodney retaining some gifts because of the ascension machine in Tao of Rodney. And John having some lingering Wraith (from being fed on then revived by Todd) slash Iratus bug DNA. Like after effects going unnoticed, but then their psychic bond will get triggered further by under fire situations and saving the world stuff. Oh, and since they are idiots in love? This sharing turns into touch without words, yes... that is an euphanism for smut and full on mindless sex, empowered by them not having to speak to know what the other desires.
