Sunrise; happily ever after is just another beginning.
Wedding commission for @talandriel, featuring Talandriel Sunchaser and Tellaria Evensong. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to capture this moment for you.
If your character(s) could go back in time and change one thing about their past, what would they change and why?
The white wedding pavilion still glittered with arcane lanterns, though the guests, all but one, had long since gone. Red and yellow rose petals swirled in the fragrant breeze and the rustle of golden leaved trees masked Talandriel’s soft exhale. “I would have married her the first time she asked.”
With a flick of her wrist, she sent a small, white pebble skimming across the lake. “If I had stayed with her after the fall. If I hadn’t followed–Him.” Ripples of starlight danced across the mirror surface and something shimmered in her eyes. “Maybe,” she whispered, “I wouldn’t have to leave her now.”
Marry Me
Quel’thalas, present day.
Talandriel & Tellaria by eriene
When we said goodbye at the portal, my heart ached with the weight of the words I held inside. I have loved you as long as I can remember. I want to grow old by your side. Marry me, beloved. However else I am remembered, let it first be as your wife.
Talandriel Sunchaser & Tellaria Evensong
I wanted to draw something happy. Talandriel and Tellaria were one of the first to come to mind.
Dawnsorrow and Ambersun often think and wonder on what their twins will be like when they grow up, and especially what 'paths' they may explore given their parentage. Do Talandriel and Tellaria often consider how they'd react if their child wanted to follow in one of their footsteps, especially where Light-borne powers are concerned..?
Tellaria did not part with the Blood Knight order on the best of terms. She would not react well to a child of hers taking up the red and black.
Talandriel’s hesitation, should Nori want to follow in her footsteps, would be that of a mother who has lived a military life and desires a gentler path for her daughter. That said, if Nori were determined, she would support her.
Regarding Light-borne powers, Talandriel witnessed many Sin'dorei followers of the Light lose their faith in the days after the fall. Nori is emotional and easily discouraged, and Talandriel fears her daughter would easily fall to despair if her faith were disappointed. She would not encourage Nori in that direction.
This isn’t a subject either has dwelt on much, since Elenori shows no inclination of following in their footsteps. She has begun to manifest an affinity for the arcane but, given her temperament, it seems more likely she would direct her talent toward enchanting flowers rather than pursuing a military career.
Thank you for the question, dawnsorrow. <3
What's the best and worst thing about being with Tellaria?
The best thing is the core of stability each derives from a relationship that has endured for over a century. Though lovers for only the last quarter of that century, they have been bestfriends nearly all their lives. Having known and loved one another through so many stages of life provides a foundation of emotional support that grounds each and helps them endure the turbulent times with equanimity.
The worst thing is their disparate socioeconomic status. Tellaria Evensong comes from a noble line and supplements her family fortune with a thriving professional enterprise on the side. Talandriel doesn’t even know her parent’s last names, and her income as a city guardian is modest at best. Talandriel feels there is little she contributes to the relationship in a tangible way, and this strikes a blow to her pride.
Thank you for the question, eriene. I love talking about these two. :)
