I might be a bit high. Not for real cause that would be bad for me as a sick guy. But in the metaphysical sense where I have too much free internet access that leads me to destroy myself via unsupervised consumption and overindulgence of my hobbies. Of which as we all know includes borderlands.
Please enjoy. Sorry this is stupid, simply blame writer’s block.
There were many, many, many things about Pandora that disturbed [Name]. One of them being the fact the within twenty seconds of being on Pandora, they had been attacked by a group of bandits. Shot at. Almost stabbed. Caught up in an explosion. And even almost run over by a damn car.
Then Rhys, in his moment of idiocy, decided to stick Nakayama’s ID drive into his head without warning [Name], thus leading to both of them having the AI of Handsome Jack stuck in their heads.
Sometimes, [Name] really wanted to hit her older brother.

Rhys stood against the wall, his body pressed against it as he peered around the corner. Both Vaughn and [Name] copying him and waiting for him to say something.
“Well? What do you see?” Vaughn asked, voice hushed as he spoke. Rhys tossed a glance over at his friend,
“A couple of bandits, not too many though.” he said, “I think we can sneak past them.” [Name] nodded at her brother, prepared to follow his lead. Which, by now, was something she should re-consider doing as often. Slightly crouched, Rhys made his way across the area, using the multiple overturned tables and cars as cover, [Name] and Vaughn following close behind.
“Hey, I think we’re safe.” Vaughn whispered once they reached end of the street.
“Are you sure, Vaughn?” [Name] asked, her voice low as well. “They might be more around the corner.” Rhys threw a look over his shoulder at the two.
“Will you both shut up? i’m tryin’ to listen for anything.” [Name] and Vaughn fell silent at that.
A pale blue glow caught [Name]’s attention. Handsome Jack stood between her and Rhys, also partially crouched down as if he, too, was hiding.
“What’re you guys whispering about?” he asked in a loud whisper. [Name] sighed lightly. She simply motioned him to be quiet whilst Rhys focused. Jack’s lips twisted into a grin and [Name] shook her head, quietly begging him not to do whatever he was about to do.
“Hey, kiddo.” he turned to Rhys, who was trying to focus on the area around them. “You know there’s a bandit right behind ya, right?” Both [Name] and Rhys snapped their heads around to see no one there beside Vaughn. A laugh echoed from the hologram at their reaction.
“Hahaha, I’m just screwing with you both. There’s no bandit behind you.” he said, calming down his laughter. “Because they’re in the alley to your left.”
At that, two bandits emerged from the shadows, guns blazing aimlessly around the trio, giving them only seconds to find cover to avoid being filled with bullets. Diving behind an overturned car, [Name] looked around to see Rhys and Vaughn hiding behind a different car.
“What now, kitten?” [Name] ignored Jack’s question, her mind scrambling to come up with a plan that would not involved either getting shot or getting someone else shot. Her eyes locked with Rhy’, his stun baton in his hand and he pointed at it then at the two bandits. [Name] nodded, understanding her older brother’s plan.
“Now, I do something stupid because of Rhys.” she said to the hologram before standing up and cupping her hand over her mouth. “Hey! Idiots!” As soon as she shouted that, she dropped down and quickly crawled towards the alley, hoping to use it to slip past them and reach Rhys and Vaughn. She crouched down at the mouth of the alley, watching as the two bandits repeatedly shot around the area. How many bullets could their guns hold?
“Now what?” Jack questioned her, boredom painting his face. [Name] looked at him,
“I don’t know. Can’t you do something?” she asked. jack rose a brow at her,
“Like what? Walk over to them and chat with them? I’m a hologram.” As he ranted somewhat, [Name]’s eyes fell down to a gun tucked under the box beside her. How... convenient.
A familiar scream caught her attention. She turned to see Rhys and Vaughn holding onto each other with the two bandits aiming their guns at them. Fear flooded her body, her hands rose up with the gun aiming at the bandits. Closing her eyes, she pulled the trigger.
Two loud bangs echoed around them before falling silent. [Name] creaked her eyes open to see the two bandits laying on the ground dead.
“Oh my God. Oh my God, I just shot two bandits. Oh my God.” [Name] dropped the gun, eyes wide as she stared at the corpses.
“Hahaha, did you see that?” Jack spoke through his laughter, making [Name] look at him. “Their brains splattered all over the walls! Hahaha!” The AI attempted to slap her back but resulted in his hand phasing through her body.
“You’re not too bad a shot either, kitten.” she glanced at him. Her mind processing what he just told her.
She just killed two bandits. And was being congratulated for it.
Why? Just why did her life have to be so damn complicated?
