✶ .  — Right. Why wouldn't Dorrin be the one completely unphased going into some building where NOTHING made sense? What a fool she was to assume he wouldn't be right at home here..... wherever here was. Clearly, she's wrong for being confused how they ended up here from PHASING THROUGH THE FLOOR. How could she be so blind?

If there was one thing she DIDN'T LIKE, it was not understanding her surroundings. That paranoia come's with the territory of having been taken against her will before. That was only compounded with the fact that her surroundings GENUINELY made no sense. There were holes where windows should be, with a view of yet another room and stairs that lead into the ceiling.

Kate stood up from the ground where she'd landed and moved to fall into step with Dorrin. ❛ You've been here before?!! Where are we?? How did we end up here? ❜

Kate's mind was running a mile a minute, but she's decided that her BEST CHANCE at getting back home was to follow Dorrin. If he really knew this place as well as he said he did, then she couldn't really afford to NOT have him around. She doesn't know where here even is, so she'd more than likely end up lost on her own.

✶ .  —  Kate stopped as Dorrin FINALLY turned to face her, still glaring up at him as if she wasn't gambling with her life by interrogating him. Still, she refused to back down, ESPECIALLY when Dorrin threw back that cutting counter-argument at her friends' expense. ❛ So what? ❜

She should have walked away right then and there, she could TELL that there would be zero healthy resolution to having this argument with Dorrin. Stubbornly though, Kate gritted her teeth and balled her fists at her sides. Her and Danie MAY NOT have been on good terms, but EVEN THEN Kate would never have wished that fate for her.

❛ Danie chased you to PROTECT innocent people!! Just because she risked her life DOESN'T MEAN she deserved to die like that on the field! ❜ Kate snapped back, because despite Dorrin's indifference – to Kate and the people who knew Danie – that sacrifice meant something.

It wasn't until that last comment ' it's not like whoever it is is the only one you walked right into death ' that Kate's blood ran cold. She knew EXACTLY what Dorrin was referring to, and it was UNFAIR of him to pull her very first chase into this. Suddenly, and all at once, Kate felt nauseous with guilt all over again. She HATED that she couldn't go a single day without it.

❛ That – ❜ Kate started before she'd furrow her brows into a glare once again, ❛ has NOTHING to do with this, and you know that. Don't turn this on me. ❜

“Nothing should go back to normal. Normal wasn’t working.” Dorrin to Tyler.

✶ .  — ❛ What the HELL are you on about?!! Normal worked GREAT before YOU came along!! ❜ To say Tyler was pissed off would be an understatement; Dorrin ALWAYS spoke down to Tyler like he was 'better' than him, just by EXISTING. The way Dorrin spoke about Tyler himself didn't feel great, but he could manage. It wasn't until Dorrin spoke about Kate or their relationship that Tyler would start to get angry.

Worst of all, Dorrin clearly KNEW that got to him, otherwise he wouldn't rub it in his face every single opportunity he got. A part of Tyler, one that he buried deep beneath the surface was UPSET that Kate seemed unbothered by the way Dorrin spoke about them. Or at least was unbothered enough to still let the demigod pursue her and vice versa.

❛ I'm sick and tired of you walking around, talking like you know everything 'cause you don't. You're just a self important prick who thinks he does. ❜

Anger at Dorrin aside, he would unpack his issues with Kate's side of things in therapy. Tyler was NOT looking to be upset with Kate at all even when some of it is her fault, not when being mad at Dorrin was so much easier.

✶ .  — Was trying to kill the demigod with a knife impulsive at best? Absolutely. Tyler hardly thinking his actions through as it were, he was absolutely LIVID the last few hours. He found out NOT ONLY about Kate and Dorrin sneaking off, but even worse about Kate skipping therapy. There was anger at Kate, rightfully so, but he's so DONE with this demigod ruining his life.

Tyler just lost his friend to Dorrin, his relationship was damaged to being beyond recognition, but if he could JUST do this maybe he wouldn't have to lose anything else. Only Dorrin was quicker and more agile than Tyler was, so things didn't go as planned AT ALL.

In just a moment, Dorrin stole the knife from Tyler. Before the chaser could properly react, the knife was PLUNGED somewhere into his abdomen. Pain surged through Tyler as he'd stagger back. SHIT. He pressed a hand to his wound, he could feel the blood soaking through his shirt and his face went pale. This was bad, really really bad.

He doesn't want to die here.

✶ .  — ❛ I feel like at least MOST of your life decisions should be smart, ❜ Bee chimed in response, looking over her shoulder to her partner who sat with their friends, ❛  or at least thought out to some degree. ❜

Bee wasn't trying to be a buzzkill, she is just the practical one in the relationship, she prides herself on keeping Cottage grounded (for the most part). That being said, Cottage's nonsense was one of the things she KNOWINGLY signed up for when they started dating seven years ago now.

❛ But if decisions you're making for cinematic value aren't major life changing ones –- then I guess I'd say do whatever makes you happy. ❜

✶ .  — There was a beat of silence. Not only was the comment extremely out of pocket, but it answered absolutely NOTHING that was asked of the demigod in the first place. It didn't take long for that initial confusion to make way for FRUSTRATION and ANGER as it so often did when it comes to Dorrin.

An indignant HUFF left Tyler as hands went to his temples, and a strained laugh left him. He could feel the anger rising, quickly at that, but he'd smother it for now. He needed answers.

❛ NO – I definitely meant my wife. ❜ Tyler shot Dorrin a glare. ❛ Where's Kate? You know something, you ALWAYS do. ❜
