AND THEN HE STILL WINS---
Temenos meets Partitio and subconsciously thinks, "This man is too trusting, and he'll die for it. Don't get attached to him."
anyway, he confessed to you one night after he crawled over to where you were lying and staring at the stars too deep in thought to hear him speak your name. his face was better than the heavens to look upon, you realized -- as he poured his heart out, as he called you his darling in that drawl, in that way that makes your heart twist in a knot. he told you he loves you one night with a fire crackling nearby … and it was the only time you found yourself asking the dawn to take its sweet time.
Something I drew because of my fic Rise Again, because apparently using words just was not enough.
So in my noodle there is a world wherein Temenos is off along on his journey trying to find his answers and he meets Partitio and they team up because, obviously, Partitio isn't going to let it alone once he learns about everything -- especially Crick. And they start bouncing around with the help of the ship. And they get really good at fighting together. Temenos is able to shell out a lot of damage because Partitio can heal himself if need be -- like the man just takes a 2-second breather and suddenly he's right back in there, up front so Temenos can hang back and heal them both if things get ugly. I like to make Temenos a Conjurer as his second job; him being able to keep Partitio and the others safe while also adding elements to every attack is ... it's really fucking brutal. In my game, uh. Paritio is my powerhouse. I like him as a Hunter for his second job and his damage output + being able to sidestep + the elemental kick from Temenos makes things just. It's so fun to sink so many arrows into things and have them just explode. (Also his axe is not something to be messed with. I do see all the 9s sometimes.) So in my noodle they meet up and when they get to the Nameless Village, they don't just end up with someone to help guide them along: someone has to become a beastling to take on that Lost Woods situation. So this means that Partitio volunteers. He and Temenos kind of go around about it for a bit, but there really isn't time with Kaldena already ahead. (She probably would have just. Made one of the Knights do the whole beastling thing, let's be real.) I like to think that after some battles where Temenos is especially happy with how things went -- he will just turn and give Partitio a little smooch. Or in this case, Purrtitio. Mwah.
Anyway, this whole scenario might be something I ... actively write scenes from if people are down for that?
I wish I could be normal. Like you see me laying on my side staring at nothing and I do one of those BIG SIGHS like a dog and you ask me what's up and you'd think I would talk about being hungry or tired but instead I ask:
Do you think ... Temenos loves to doubt everything and overanalyze on his terms but when someone else makes him start second-guessing, he gets a bit flustered? Like when Temenos explains something he sees to Partitio and then Partitio in turn tells Temenos why he sees it differently ... it makes him a little bonkers. Do you think they argue about it? Do you think there are days where it is a game, where they have to find ways to help people and get further on their journeys and they each try their own ways of going about it to see what is more effective and afterwards they banter in a tavern and laugh and can't wait to do it again. Do you think there are days where they have to hurt people and they both dislike how good they've gotten at that do you think they argue more about those techniques and what lines to draw do you think Temenos allows significantly less room for error while also getting so stressed at how wild and wreckless Partitio can really be --- and those days end a bit more quiet a bit more tense. And yet do you think Partitio asks Temenos more and more about what he believes to understand him better while Temenos thinks he understands Partitio less and less the more time they spend together? Do you think Partitio loves Temenos because ... the wealth truly means nothing to him and can't even solve his problems --- because what he needs is the compassion and trust and for someone to challenge him every day, because Temenos isn't going to call him "boss" and follow him without a knowing smirk and air of amusement. Does Temenos love Partitio because he wants to help others but does so without needing to believe in more than his fellow man, even people who wronged him? Do you think he learned about Partitio chewing on weeds and crying himself to sleep due to hunger and wanted to break Roque's knees ... and didn't know what to even say when Partitio hired Roque right back into things. Do you think he amazes him so much, do you think he has frowned at the idea of stained glass not doing Partitio justice. Do you think
Hello, sleeping is real rough tonight but do you think that Partitio's faith in his fellow man legitimately terrifies the fuck out of Temenos and then it gets worse because of course --- of course --- he's also so upbeat to be around. Do you think he feels strange speaking with Partitio because he is one of the few people who don't bullshit him in some way, shape, or form? Temenos functions on doubting and he wants to find something and create a mystery for himself to solve and Partitio is like ... one of the worst ones because he speaks truths without Temenos needing to break his knees first and there's nothing for him to immediately GAIN for it. He's just open with him. He's just kind --- and he gladly bickers with him when he realizes it's something Temenos needs to be comfortable. But isn't that terrifying? Do you think Temenos keeps praying to Crick, do you think he argues with him in his head sometimes about letting himself have someone else he looks forward to seeing in his life? Do you think after everything with the Sacred Guard was said and done, Partitio aked him where he wanted to go and he said something like "I think ... I shall stop in and visit a friend" and then he knew by Partitio's face that he would come with? Like at that point how much would they actually need to say out loud? When they are on their way and in front of that building and Temenos' throat gets tight and he can't unsee the blood --- how relieved is he when Partitio suddenly sneezes and apologizes and huddles the dragon scarf around himself more and starts hopping a little to try and warm up and it snaps Temenos out of it???? Do you see this do you see the vision??? Partitio falling away to the side to read other headstones and give Temenos space and then being willing to travel extra long just to get the fuck back away from any of it. Do not get me started about how Temenos reads Partitio for what he is: trouble. The kind he cannot resist getting caught up in.
The one where Partitio gets injured and Temenos panics and heals him but he does need to rest up, some, and so Temenos is stuck overthinking and overworrying about him because he's so wreckless and so fast to put his fists up and sometimes Temenos has to literally grab him by the tie and tell him that their last fight was too close or just because he's a cowboy doesn't mean every day needs to be a rodeo and stop okay imagine Partitio is resting in an inn and Temenos wraps the jacket around himself while he reads nearby because it smells like him and it's heavy and if Temenos has it then he has to give it back, right? Like at some point Partitio’s going to feel well enough to tease him lightly about it and THAT is how he knows he's finally okay to be up and about again.
