“yeah,” eric nods, laughing a little as he brings his cup to his lips. there’s not even a hint of surprise on his face as vidia approaches him wearing a velvet dress. if anyone was coming to the christmas party dressed as a sexy version of anything, it’d be vidia. “but you already knew that.” the girl had more confidence in her pinky than he thinks two people combined could possess, and it’s one of the things he’s always admired about her. “you shoulda’ been an elf though. would have been more fitting.” he teases, patting her on the top of the head with a smile. @10kvidia

“you’re doing it again,” penny chastises vidia, shooting the girl a knowing look as she passes her to run the water in the tub. vidia had a particularly nasty habit of overworking herself to the point of exhaustion, a desire to be the best fueling every extended training session. penny understood the ambition, pushed herself to limits beyond what she should when it came to all of her goals. but she also knew when to take a step back, and with the obvious rivalry between vidia and dash growing worse by the day, it was clear vidia didn’t know when to relax. so, this became something of a tradition. it’d started in the height of their undefined relationship, penny forcing vidia to take a bubble bath and giving her a massage afterwards in an effort to help her relieve some of that tension she burdened herself with. and even though now their relationship was even more muddled than it was before, penny still made sure to set a night aside for vidia. with soccer championships coming up, it only made sense. “you need to relax. you can’t be #1 if you work yourself into an early grave.” pressing a kiss to vidia’s forehead she unties the belt on vidia’s robe. “let me take care of you.” @10kvidia

eric stares up at the night sky, feet idly kicking the water underneath them. sitting by the pool in his backyard with vidia was hardly anything new. the easy way she fit into his life was something that he’d long grown accustomed to, and with the final soccer game of the season coming up it only made sense that they’d be spending more time together than normal. if that was even possible as they already hung out frequently as is. what he’s not necessarily accustomed to is the nature of their conversation. vulnerability was hardly something he ever saw on vidia, sharp tongue keeping her secrets and thoughts hidden. but tonight she seemed to be thinking about something that troubled her. “hey,” he nudges her with his knee. “falling in love is beautiful.” a hopeless romantic at his core Eric finds himself falling in and out of relationship after relationship, hoping to feel the warm touch of love gripping him. and he had once, still feels it for that girl even now that they’re apart. things with missy had ended in a way he wasn’t the most pleased about, but he still looks back on that with nothing but fondness. knows that no matter how many times he gets his heart broken he will always think being in love was the most precious thing in the world, that no feeling could match the way he felt when missy looks at him. “you’re not an idiot for it. you can never be an idiot for that.” @10kvidia
