I don’t tell the truth for admiration. I tell the truth because lies hurt more. Lies wrapped up in pretty words don’t benefit anyone in the end.”

I think, no one has ever valued you before. How can you see the value in life if no one saw the value in you? I'm sad for you. And I'm sad for all the blind people who couldn't see you.

This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us.

Have you ever read a book in a matter of a few hours and then gotten towards the end and regretted ever picking it up in the first place? Well, I finally have. I regret ever picking up Ten Below Zero by Whitney Barbetti and not because I hated the story; I loved it. The problem was the memories and heartbreak it brought back; I lost my grandmother to cancer about 10 months ago and I’m yet to truly grieve for her. The main character in Ten Below Zero, Parker, has to face the possibility of losing someone she loves, Everett, (but isn’t willing to admit it) to a form of cancer. That broke me and it made me regret ever picking up the book and falling in love with the characters; thinking Everett had lost his fight with the cancer was like re-living my loss all over again and I’m not ready to fully face that loss. But thank you, Whitney, for helping me to remember that it’s okay to give up the fight against cancer and helping me to finally face the loss of someone I loved more than I’ll ever be able to say. I just wish I could tell my grandmother that I love her, just one last time...
A new day, a new book, and a new cup of tea. (X-X-X)
