Ā Ā As he stood at Silver Castleās headquarters again, GZ was not sure how he expected the others to respond, whenever they learned he had returned from space. He had never experienced aĀ āwelcome backā sort of greeting from open hearted individuals, and struggled to comprehend what it might be. Then again, there may not have been anything bizarre about it. He still had not entirely learned to predict mentalities he did not fully understand.
Ā Ā But, if he was allowed to stay, he did not care whether he would endure bafflement or not. In his time away, he realized he missed them. Despite having so much memory and training dedicated to destruction, despite believing for so long that his only purpose was for tactical warfare, the time he had spent with Silver Castle introduced him to another life, another purpose. Even with the intent of reaching out to other soldiers with Sheena, Garret, and the rest, rather than being at war, he did not feel the pride he had found here. He did not feel the happiness he had found here, a word that was once irrelevant.
Ā Ā Ryuuken was the first GZ discovered as he circled the infrastructure to view their practice grounds, and Ryuuken was the first to prove that yes, these soft souls had significantly more intimate reactions to seeing someone they hadnāt in over a year.Ā
Ā Ā GZ barely had time to brace for the impact of being pounced on by his friend, but his defensive instincts did not fail him, and he assumed a solid stance quickly enough to avoid being toppled. For a brief moment, he thought it may have been a hostile action, that perhaps Ryuuken was angry he had left and only now had the chance to express that sentiment... Judging by the powerful hold he began to recognize as an embrace, however, that was not the case. Ryuuken was not angry, and the military leaguer was relieved that he wasnāt.
Ā Ā Ā ā...ā GZās arms shifted to wrap around Ryuuken in return, before his grip began to tighten into a nearly crushing embrace as well. Both of them could have undoubtedly dented most leaguers with their strength, but their armor was strong enough to endure when it came to each other. They did not need to restrain, and he missed this too.
Ā Ā āI wonāt leave again,ā he stated, voicing both a decision and an attempt at assurance. Being here was, to the best of his understanding, home.
