Collectivize housing

Since landlords cant afford the property without the tenants, technically the collective of the tenants pay for the property and provide it for the landlord. So, housing should be collectivized into tenants unions.

I'm soon to move out of the first place I've rented after leaving home... I've never had to end a tenancy before and I'm kind of scared! Any tips? (I don't have to worry about the deposit, at least - we made a deal that I don't get it back, but I get to have a dog 😂)
