starting a new reading challenge
09march2020
So I’ve decided to officially start my reading challenge where I’m challenging myself to read at least a few pages every single day. I’m doing this since my reading habits completely changed after coming into medical school. Which is why I’m not pressurising myself into finishing a particular number of books in 6 or 12 months. This is a not a new step for me but a more determined one towards me trying to get back into reading, which in middle and high school was my talent: finishing books overnight. I’m going to be keeping track of it in my planner and by opening a goodreads account.
In the previous months I started reading Karachi, You’re Killing Me! by Saba Imtiaz. I had been waiting to read it ever since it’s release. But much to my disappointment it did not meet my expectations and I found it quite boring, other than finding it an inaccurate portrayal.
I finally decided not to finish it since my lack of interest was not making it easy for me to finish it anytime soon. Maybe I’ll talk in detail about it in another post.
For now, I’ve decided to pick up Tender Hooks by Moni Mohsin on the recommendation of my cousin. I can tell that it’s going to be a light read with some comedy which is what I’m looking to read at the moment. It’s gotten better reviews on goodreads as well. I’m really excited to read it and update here with my progress.
