The Heartless seemed nervous, and he frowned, letting his hands fall to his sides.
“I know you have every right to hate me for eternity, and to never forgive me, and I accept that. I am not expecting absolution or anything of the sort. I just wanted you to know that I am sorry, for everything, and that I am not the Master despite what others might say. I played my part, in the end. Isn’t that what could be said for all of us?” He laughed, but the sound was hollow and his face fell again.

He cut himself off and shook his head. “That doesn’t matter though, they are just excuses. I am sorry and I will not harm any of you, that’s all that matters. I only wish to live out my life in peace now, in the Darkness. I hope you can....find it in yourself to let me, but if you wish to strike me down you may, as many times as you wish.”
