It just makes sense that Neji would’ve married Tenten if he had survived the war.
I know that I am going to sound like the stereotypical nejiten shipper that looks for the smallest of details to prove a point but that isn’t what I am doing here (for the most part). If you really think about (it doesn't take much), wouldn’t it make sense for Neji to marry Tenten?
“Where are your facts?” you say.
“Where is the proof?” you question.
Here’s the logical proof right here:
Tenten is canonically single as shown in Boruto. She is one of the very few other than Shino that never got married and never had kids. Rock Lee got married to an unknown women, meaning that there was no romantic interest between him and Tenten. Perhaps the reason for this was because Tenten was literally destined to be with Neji. It would just MAKE SENSE for the two of them to be married if he had survived. I doubt that Kishimoto would’ve made another character, made that said character marry Neji, and blah blah blah.
The Hyuga clan’s main elder is dead, therefore, Hiashi was fully capable of making changes. I like to think that because Neji saved Hinata, Hiashi would allow him to go against the customs of the clan as a thank you for saving his daughter. A custom that enables Neji to marry Tenten without much conflict.
Do you see it now?
If Neji had survived, it wouldn't have made sense for him to not marry Tenten, because Tenten is canonically single in the new series. This furthers my analysis in saying that in the episodes prior to Naruto and Hinata’s wedding, Tenten is seen sitting on a log, daydreaming about how beautiful marriage is until she is struck with the realization that she has no boyfriend. She looks rather depressed and while it didn’t reveal explicitly who she could’ve been thinking about, it probably was Neji.
Maybe you're right. Maybe I am jumping the gun.
But I am not.
Also, don’t forget that Tenten would always bring up Neji in a conversation.
“What would Neji do?”
“If Neji were here, he wouldn’t even talk to you!”
“Neji would not do that!”
There is something much deeper going on here. Being a female myself, I know and understand the interest some males have in me and Tenten, despite her fictional justice, probably was hit on by a mass of guys, who she rejected (obviously).
Her heart was set on Neji.
She had hope they would end up together but NO. Kishimoto had to be a dick and kill Neji.
Sorry not sorry, but Neji and Tenten were destined to be together.
Also, Neji isn’t dead.
(Let me clarify that this post is based upon my own analysis of the series and of their relationship. Yes, I used the word “proof” because it is proof to me. You don’t need to agree with me and if you don’t then move on.)
