I’m not sure what people were expecting that complained, but I am THRILLED at the NHL and various teams’ response to a player coming out. They acknowledged it, they offered support, they celebrated it. I wasn’t expecting that much, and I’m very moved that they did that, that a bunch of players did that, too.
That would NOT have happened ten years ago. It wouldn’t have happened five years ago. Everything won’t be perfect overnight. CELEBRATE PROGRESS!
