Do you know what the deal with viperfish is? Wikipedia talks about how "Although it may look like it is covered in scales, it in fact is covered by a thick, transparent coating of unknown substance" Is it just a slime coat? Why does that sound so weird and ominous?
I actually don’t know!! they sure do look scaly to me, I’ve never heard that statement before but the number of people who have physically handled abyssal sea life isn’t a long list
fuck me up with those fursonas
oh boy, i gotta pick a SPECIAL one for you, hm..... you are a railroad worm!!
Some clawed frog tadpoles sort of do that. Random individuals will just not morph and will keep getting bigger for a couple years. I think the eventually die though, but you could try messaging someone who breeds them to see if you could get a few like that!
OH YEAH and they end up looking like a FISH WITH LEGS
As long as they get food within reach they seem to do okay for a while, but they can't float in the water properly because they develop "solidified lungs" they never use, which weigh them down. They swim and everything, but when they stop swimming they sink like a rock instead of floating like a regular tadpole.
One time I walked by a rainforest case and the fire department was sawing off the jaguar's teeth because some kid got their head stuck in there
that kid’s name? bernie sandersw
tentaclemobster replied to your post: thots on the new starters?
At least its not -quite- as bad as talonflame
“talonflame” sounds like 12 year old’s first attempt at making fakemon
What about the species that are basically the same thing as domestics? A lot of waterfowl and galliformes aren't any harder or more demanding to take care of than just a regular domestic chicken or duck, and can bypass laws that consider most domestic birds "farm animals" that would stop people from having any of the usual species. I think that's a lot of the draw to parrots, since tons of places won't let you have chickens/pigeons/ducks/etc which leaves not many options open.
i think the only exotic birds that can be kept well are fowl
gamebirds are factory farmed with established captive populations and aren’t that different from domestic fowl, but don’t expect a tame bird. pheasants and peafowl are basically eyecandy.
just read your bylaws
Wait cerci are modified legs? How does that work with them having 6 and all
A pair of legs first became cerci in ancient, pre-insect arthropods, and then insects inherited them!
