Re-Imaginings of some lesser known echidna girlbosses
-gasp- I never posted this Teri-Lu
Damn, this was a once in a lifetime bit of planning. The fact that we had our 250th milestone to celebrate so close to halloween that year meant we obviously had to do something “scary.” That Ian was on a major character killing spree since he’d started practically threw the I Know What You Did Last Summer plot right into our faces. And then to have the reveal right on the 31st. Fukken golden. And to top it off, I guess one of our readers at the time happened to rat us out to Ian’s forum about what we were doing.which happened to be for the best because Ian turned out to be an actual fan of Power Rings. I swear I am not making that last part up. Definitely one of our most successful times on this strip.

If you don’t get the punchline to today’s strip you just have to read Knuckles’ profile on Sega’s SotH website.
[Actually, don’t click that. Sega was too weak to leave their gamesite archived anywhere. Long story short, Sega had written in Knuckles’ bio blurb that he was Sonic’s sidekick. Definitely a demotion from friendly rival, I think.]
If you don’t get the rest of today’s strip, tough beans. You’ll just have to keep reading.
Happy Halloween!

If you will grant me this moment of immaturity…
When Sonic’s involved, isn’t every time a quickie?
Ooooooh!
Additional commentary on Madness follows:
I am having such an ugly laugh right now. I completely forgot that when we put Rotor six feet under we fucking dragged him all the way down. He wasn’t just assassinated, he was nuked from orbit.
Additional commentary on Guess He’s Not That Immortal follows:
Mayhaps it sounded somwhat like PLUD?
Okay, wow, we got actual hate for this strip. Sure we can have Rotor die from negligence and just completely shred his personality to pieces, but how dARe we sUGgeSt Shadow can diE, somehOW??? But like I said in the next update--
Original commentary for Fire Safety follows:

It seems we have crossed one too many lines in our search for the bigger punchline. I am, of course, referring to Wednesday’s untimely passing of Shadow the Hedgehog.
Despised by the old, revered by young, he was nevertheless a lightning rod, a touchstone, one big fat target, for the entire Sonic fandom. In his image we saw both market metrics gone awry and a revitalization of a stagnant franchise.
And I’d just like to say, if I’d known Wednesday’s comic would generate this much response, I’d have done it sooner.
HA!
Okay, calm down, those of you whom I’ve riled. I did that to make a point. That no matter how much you adore a particular character, there has to be room to be able to laugh at them.
We’ve made fun of Sonic, of Tails, of Knuckles, of Sally, and of everyone else relentlessly. Shadow is not untouchable.
We’re Power Rings. We never take ourselves seriously. And that’s all we ask of you.

Remember the law of horror movies: If two teens start making out, the killer always strikes.

Tune in tomorrow at a special time, when we finally reveal the easily-recognizable killer!

Yes. Won’t that be fun?
Original commentary for All’s Well That Ends follows:

…These are the laws of the cartoon universe.
Yes, everyone will be coming back by Monday. Could you imagine if Sonic and Tails were the only characters in that entire universe? What would happen? Run around collecting rings? Defeating Robotnik again and again? Boring!
I, of course, am joking. Ha ha.
Ha ha.
Madness was origianlly published between 16-10-2006 and 3-11-2006.
a re-design drawing of Teri-Lu (Archie Sonic) I did for @julie-su a few months ago and forgot to put here.
I mean if her role is to be a secretary stereotype that cosplays in Star Trek uniforms she might as well lean all the way into it
