@termonucleare asked: He collapsed in the bushes, so exhausted and weak that finally his body gave out. Zeno had gone from riches to rags, his head reattached only for the Connections group to decide to reprogram him to destroy his individuality and stubbornness. To kill him while keeping their investment intact. Zeno escaped, but now….he might as well have stayed dead. His weak body seemingly lifeless between the grass and bushes, his skin so pale he almost glowed. He didn’t know where he ended up…..but all he saw now was a fantasy that could never be real. A grassy playground. Himself but…small. And an older man that looked just like him, only with corn-colored blonde hair. A fantasy of him….having had a happy life. ( @prctctype) ( Here have Zeno for Grace lol)
She was free. To some degree, she found herself at ease and at peace with what were violent memories that plagued her mind. And having new connections and relationships that let her flourish a little more. For once, she had hoped this nightmare was over and that she wouldn't face what reminded her of that night. Something that was once a disease in her brain, but now an event she had accepted.
Until she paused. A familiar figure in the bushes. Her walk in the sun to find that familiar face. It frightened her, gasping and a hand resting against her belt. She bore her gun for safety, but ...
... why did he look so pale?
" ... you. I-I know you," she managed to mutter, but her fingers weren't reaching for pulling the gun out of her holster. "Z-Zeno? You're ... I thought you were dead. Y-You look ... worse than-- uhm, than that. Why ... ? What are you doing here?"
