Oh yeah it's been a long time since I posted anything to Tumblr proper but

I am still trying to draw and sketch for my skylanders au. Or any of my AUs for that matter. My motivation just hits me in bursts is all.

Here are sketches of Spyro, Trigger Happy, Gill Grunt, Flameslinger, Stealth elf, Hex, Tempest (Whirlwind is a Renamed lander in my AU), Terrafin, Sparx and Umbra (AU take on Dark Spyro).

Name: A Winterfest Kiss

Characters: Bash, Flashwing, Zap, Sunburn, Terrafin, Sprocket, Echo, Hugo, Eon.

Mentioned: Jet-Vac, Treadhead, Lobstar, Echo, Voodood, Ghost Roaster, Boomer, Stormblade, HighFive, Blades, Scratch, Cali, Flynn.

It was a cold day in Skylands as snow fell, most creatures were spending this day warming up by a fire or drinking a warm cup of cocoa. But the Skylanders were celebrating as Winterfest came closer with every day. They were having a party as the festive spirits flew high alongside the holiday ghosts and merry skeletons. Not all Skylanders were at the party, some like Jet-Vac and Treadhead were giving to the less fortunate to help with the freezing temperatures, others like Voodood, Ghost Roaster, and Boomer were having their own party and had brought Stormblade with them, and quite a few saw no reason to celebrate or take a break. But the Skylanders that stayed were partying and cheering for their success and victories. Lobstar had cooked every meal as Echo was leading in singing Winterfest carols, and The Minis were having fun in a giant snowball fight, everyone was having a blast and were excited, especially Bash, but for something else. He told his plan to Terrafin in excitement.

🥊"You really think that will work?"

🪨"OF COURSE TERRAFIN! It can't fail."

🥊"That's what you said last time on Cupid Night"

🪨"No, that was flawed."

🥊"Ya think?"

🪨"This time it can't fail, I've got Zap and Sunburn helping with the mistletoe."

"Yep! We got this."

"This can't go wrong."

🥊"Geez, its gonna be hilarious when she doesn't fall for it."

🪨"Just you wait."

🥊"Fine."

*Meanwhile with Flashwing, she was talking with Sprocket and Echo over cups of Hot chocolate.*

🔧"So what are you going to do about Bash? You know he's gonna try and get a kiss at some point."

💠"What do you mean?"

*Flashwing chuckled as she turned her head and glanced at Bash as he tried to help hang up a thing of mistletoe.*

🔊" Come on, you know he's crazy for you."

💠"Oh I'm aware. I find it adorable how he fawns over me. I might see what he's planning first. Then I'll decide on how I'll react."

🔧"So your gonna fall for it?"

💠"Not a chance, I'm just interested in seeing how he plans on getting it."

*As the party goes, Bash, Zap, and Sunburn kept trying to catch Flashwing under the mistletoe, Sunburn would try and teleport over her on the rafters while he was holding the mistletoe. The problem was that Sunburn often missed his teleport and kept landing in the wrong space. He actually caught multiple different Skylanders instead, from High Five and Blades who happily shared a kiss. To Scratch and Echo where Scratch dashed off into the crowd, a blushing mess. Then Cali and Flynn with Flynn going in for the kiss only for Cali to step out of the way, causing him to trip. The attempts continue throughout the party till near the end, and Bash hadn't gotten one kiss. He sighed as he lay down by the bar stall that Terrafin was at, completely disappointed.

🥊"didn't work?"

🪨"…*sigh* you were right."

🥊"had a feeling."

*Terrafin chuckled as he drank a large glass of hot coffee.*

🪨"I thought this would work.'

🥊"Ya, but maybe you'll get her next time, want a drink bud?"

🪨"sure, I guess."

*Before Terrafin could even order another drink, a certain voice cut through the silence.*

💠"Bash, there you are. I've been look for you."

🪨"Oh! Um h-hey Flosh- I mean- Flach-I mean-um, Flashwing! Um ya, I-I've just been h-here."

🥊"This is hard to watch."

*Flashwing couldn't help but giggle at Bash's stammering, but she began to talk again.*

💠"Yes, now why do you look so down in the dumps? It's a Winterfest party after all."

🪨"oh y-ya well um I-uhhhh- I've just be-been thinking about…something."

💠"Well then, we can't have that. Maybe this'll cheer you up."

*Before Bash could ask what she meant. Flashwing planted a kiss right on his cheek. He froze in disbelief before his rock-like face turned red as a ruby, a goofy smile slightly grew on his face, and he was fidgety and giggly as he stuttered and stammered while he spoke.*

🪨"Ohh, uh hehe, um. That ahactually helped quite a bit, th-thank you Flish- Flashwing."

💠"of course Bash. You're one of my closest friends and I hate to see you with a frown, its just not in style for the season. And it horribly clashes with your adorable face."

*Bash made a squeak when she said that. His face turned redder as he tried and failed to compose himself.*

🪨"Um uh, yo-you think I'm adorable?"

💠"Of course. And handsome to boot. Coming from me, that's a compliment of the highest honor."

*She smiled as she looked at herself from the reflection of herself from her crystal body.*

💠"But anyway. I was just looking for you to tell you I'm leaving early. I told Echo and Sprocket I'd go carolling with them to Iron Jaw Gulch. So see you tomorrow Bash."

*She giggled as she turned around and walked off. No one noticed the blush that grew on her cheeks after kissing Bash. Bash was completely froze and flustered, Terrafin then gently shook him.*

🥊"Dude? You okay?"

*Bash then melted to the floor with a goofy smile on his blushy face, giggling to himself and kicking his hindclaws as he squirms.*

🪨"EEEHEHEHEHE! She kissed me, she kissed me right on my cheek. Hehehehe."

🥊"Ya ya, you were right."

🪨"This Is The Best Winterfest Ever! Maybe one day we'll snuggle each other."

🥊"Sure, you got a kiss from her, why not snuggles too. Heh, you lucky dork."

And there we go, but here's a sneak peek at something else coming up.

*As the Skylanders partied and laughed, Eon was high above in a high tower, staring across the lands, his mind wandering to times past, times full of Despair and hate, a time when a fake miracle maker spread his lies, a time when a pure evil was formed.*

"Eon sir?"

*Hugo's voice brought Eon back to reality as he turned to look at his assistant.*

"Oh, yes Hugo?"

"Why are you up here? Don't you want to join in the festivities?"

"I wish Hugo, but I just will watch over Skylands making sure a dark evil doesn't come."

"But sir, not even Kaos attacks during Winterfest anymore. What evil could you even be watching out for?"

"Oh there have been many stronger villains than Kaos, many of them have fallen, but some disappeared into myth, yet to return. And I fear the day they do."

Ooo, what a cliff hanger, who is this evil?

name headcanons

i *really* like the idea of codenames/stage names in place of proper existing names here, so i threw together some names + some additional headcanons. please enjoy <3

*putting transcripts in case you can't read my garbage handwriting

Mack Thresher "Terrafin" (he/him)

Despite being a dirt shark, Terrafin isn't quite the same species of dirt shark as the others in Iron Jaw Gulch

He's been off-duty a long time, but still tends to find himself acting on lifeguard instincts.

Probably trains people in boxing sessions in his off-time

Liang Xià "Flameslinger" (he/they)

While they do wear a blindfold, he does see through the flame on the tip of his arrows

He is trilingual and speaks English, Elvish, and French*. Elvish being his first.

Ambivert. Usually loves being around people, but every now and again, HAS to shut themselves in.

*he learned French solely because he thought it'd sound cool. Very likely also forces the accent.

Finnigan "Finni" Ryder "Fright Rider" (he/they)

He's rather disconnected from his culture compared to his fellow elves, isn't entirely familiar with his native language, traditions, etc. He often feels alienated from the other elves in this aspect.

Ozzy, his ostrich, serves as emotional support for him, even if Ozzy is much more fearful.*

Additionally, Ozzy serves as physical support, as Rider also deals with OSD and has episodes of being unable to stand (at least not without being in pain.)

Hura Crepitan "Stump Smash" (he/it)

It constantly feels chronically unwell/unrested since being logged, usually being what contributes to his mood.

He dehydrates far easier, and often needs to soak before doing anything combat related -- being on the dryer side makes it difficult for him to move.

Despite being generally bitter, being around Flameslinger has taught him significant patience (although likely, not a whole lot)

(these may change with time, and these definitely won't be the last of the skylanders. I plan on doing npcs for my next one of these though <3.)
