Just had my periodic realization that my childhood wasn't funny bad it was actually bad bad it just sounds funny out of context

Like the sentence

Out of context, it reads as the intro to a borat style comedy bit involving a nebulously foreign country and it's weird customs

"In Old Country Mother would strap 50 kilogram weight to my head as part of winter festivity!"

In context tho,

"As a punishment my mother would strap a 50lb weight to my head and make me do push ups until I couldn't do any more."
