you can't convince me this parallel isn't intentional. cas and gabriel are both pulled out of their respective headspaces after being told effectively the same thing ("you're family and we need you. i need you"). the main difference is the winchester family theme plays during sam and gabriel's scene (which has fun implications about how sam sees gabe whether you ship sam and gabe or not)
