My name is Aya… I am a mother trying to protect my children, but I feel like I’m losing my strength day by day.

Last night, a powerful storm destroyed our shelter completely. We stood in the freezing cold, my children shaking, crying, soaked and terrified, and I couldn’t protect them or even keep them warm.

It breaks my heart that I can no longer provide the simplest things… not enough food, no proper clothing, no safe place to sleep.

In the Gaza Strip, cooking gas has become one of the most essential basic needs. With the ongoing severe shortage and soaring prices, the cost of one kilogram of gas has reached around $60 in some areas—an amount I simply cannot afford under the current circumstances.

This situation forces me to rely on open fires and primitive cooking methods, exposing me continuously to thick smoke and harmful fumes. Because of my medical condition, inhaling this smoke causes serious harm to my health, increases my daily suffering, and affects my ability to live a normal life.

For me, access to cooking gas is not a luxury—it is an urgent humanitarian and health necessity that would protect me from the dangers of smoke and open flames and help ease the hardships I face every day. 💔
