Sri Lanka:Ā āWokeā Tumblr Users Turn Tragedy into Point-Scoring
Whilst ordinary folk around the world are numb with horror at the slaughter of Christians and tourists in Sri Lanka, theĀ āwokeā population of Tumblr and beyond has better things to do with its time.Ā
Many posts are circulating in which pompous, poorly-informed individuals tell us that nobody is talking about Sri Lanka. This is nothing but bile. I follow English and French language newspapers, all of which carry Sri Lanka on the front pages. Even despite the massive time difference (I learned about the tragedy early yesterday morning), the BBC, Guardian etc. were covering events as they occurred. Obviously, this news would have taken a while to reach the US and other countries, but I saw updates from CNN and other major US channels.Ā
Claiming that the media isĀ āignoringā Sri Lanka is simply a lie. Period.Ā
More disgustingly, they now point the finger of blame not at the Islamist terrorists who murdered Christians and Western tourists, but at CathĆ©drale Notre-Dame de Paris. You see, we should not have spent so much time mourning the destruction to a precious landmark. Obviously, this is just supporting colonialism and ignoring the rest of the world. Again, total bile. People across the entire world were horrified at the destruction caused to CND de Paris, because people across the entire world visit that venerable cathedral every year.Ā
Notice the emotional manipulation and pontification here. It assumes a dichotomy between being concerned about a fire and being concerned about a terrorist attack. No such choice exists. It also assumes that being concerned about a cultural landmark cancels out concern for other tragic events. No such cancellation exists. This is nothing more than dictating other peopleās grief using flimsy suppositions, distortions, false standards, and outright lies.Ā
Meanwhile, French Christians who were displaced by last Mondayās fire sent messages of support to Sri Lanka.
They will now insist that nobody wants to do anything about such killings compared to the fire. This conveniently sidesteps the recent revelation that Sri Lankan authorities were warned about an impending attack up to 10 days ago. We do not know whether they heeded those warnings. This seems usually to be the case in a terrorist attack. Will theĀ āwokeā airbags demand that the government crack down on terrorist organisations? I will wait.Ā
What about the unsurprising revelation that the culprits are Islamist terrorists? Will theĀ āwokeā Tumblr users and co. now join those who have been warning about the danger of terrorism in the global Muslim community, and the networks of terror being formed that can bleed into other nations via uncontrolled immigration?Ā A Sri Lankan spokeswoman has recently said that this attack could not have happened without international support. What steps will theĀ āwokeā Tumblr users take to crack down on international terrorist organisations.Ā
Ever heard theĀ āwokeā population discuss global persecution of Christians, usually perpetrated by Islamist terrorists? Instead, we see soppy, euphemistic phrases such asĀ āworshippersā and āplaces of worshipā, rather than just mentioning the fact that they were targeted for being Christian and practicing their faith. Yet these very same people can often be heard attacking others for notĀ ācalling outā a crime. You will notice that they were very insistent upon condemning anti-Muslim hatred after the disgusting attacks in New Zealand. They insisted that people call out white supremacist garbage.Ā
But when it comes to clear anti-Christian and anti-Jewish violence, particularly when perpetrated by radical Muslims, theĀ āwokeā like to retreat behind a cloud of euphemisms and general statements. Case in point: I notice very few posts addressing the culprits, Islamist terrorists, who have been targeting Christians with impunity across Asia and Africa.Ā
In light of this staggering nonsense, do not be guilt-tripped or intimidated into belittling and demeaning the French, the CND de Paris, or entering the Identity Politics Grievance Competition. This kind of cheap sloganeering might be par for the course inĀ āWokeā philosophy, but itās completely beneath the dignity of everyone else. Like I said, French Christians stand shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka.Ā
Letās follow their example, rather than theĀ āwokeā one.Ā
"A mother of one of the New Zealand terrorist attack victims gets in her sonās Parked car 10 days after the tragedy. As soon as she started the car, Quran played. It gave me the shivers subhan Allah. What a pure & beautiful way to leave this dunya. May Allah grant him paradise. šš» "
Marawi City Update: As of 10:02 am local time
I am getting most of my updates via Twitter from citizens and their families within Marawi. The news networks are either downplaying what is going on or barely covering it at all. Citizens have also been told to stop talking about whats going on and what is currently happening via social media. Some info on Twitter may or may not be true but I am following those who are currently living there, searching through their tweets on whatās going on and their updated photos and videos. The information below however has been confirmed by CNN Philippines and through interviews with residents.
At the moment the fire at Dansalan College has been put out but burn marks and fallen debris surround the college. Three buildings of the college have been burned down.
Citizens of Marawi are now currently trying to escape the city to safety during the morning hours. Some are walking with injured, others are driving. Some have been stopped by the terrorists in certain points of the city but have been released and let through.
One teacher that has been held hostage has been rescued.
Gunfire is still being heard by residents. Many are stating that they still see no government military presence in many parts of the city.

Pray SomaliaĀ Mogadishu, and Medina
Hi Iām not finding anything here on Tumblr but there was a deadly bombing (two) in Mogadishu on Oct. 14. Near Hodan district and in the medina district. last I have read and heard the death count is 276. This bombing event is the biggest one to occur in Somalia in nearly a decade. The President of Somalia has already declared 3 days of mourning. I am not mentioning who did it but if you search online you can know. I just donāt believe they deserve to be named. Rather the people who died need to be mentioned and remembered so please thoughts and prayers to the country in this time of mourning and rebuilding. I know the country is responding and other countries in the area and around the world are offering support. So again Thoughts and Prayers and if you can somehow help please do.
