I always crack when I see this scene because the music selection and overall way it was shot is original and well done. The effect was made with a motion capture (mocap) camera on a rail that was programmed to do the same exact run through the bar multiple times.

The shot is based on the popular "Carousel" commercial by Phillips, except they didn't have multiple days and a $4M budget to make it.

Adam Mckay was the film's director on The Other Guys and he worked with his DP, Oliver Wood, to supervise and finish the shot in a New York bar within half a day. Some of the special effects like the flying dollars and the gunfire muffle were done in post-production at Evil Eye, which is the studio that handled all the effects for the film.
