Nope, Anon. I ship Teruo and Chiaki because they give me the impression they are a reversed Junzumi with Chiaki being the one simping, and because Mercurymon and Ranamon did seem to have some…Chemistry for sure🤣. So who knows.
Let's do an inaugural Strip-Tease ask! Shall we have headcanons of our relapsed Liberation Front follower and an S/O looking to turn him into a hero?
I wrote entirely too much and I refuse to be sorry for literally any of this
I LOVE TERUO SO MUCH HE’S MY HUSBAND AND I DO NOT TAKE CRITICISM
TERUO
No, really, his hero name was his S/O’s idea! He swears!!
On the one hand, (Name) actually does feel pretty bad for Teruo, or at least has a lot of sympathy for the poor guy. His Quirk only becomes active when he feels embarrassed, to the point that… he feels the need to strip in public? Couldn’t he do something a little less extreme to make his power kick in? No? (Come on, naked people aren’t that funny!) On a more serious note, they get it. He’s never felt like he fits in with society as a whole, he doesn’t feel like his job values him, he’s very lonely; it’s no wonder he was easy prey for an ideal like ReDestro’s. There are a lot of people out there like Teruo Hazukashi, and it’s an unfortunate reality that not all of them will get the chance he’s getting.
He feels so cast out from the concept of heroism, so naturally his S/O thinks it would be a good idea to prove to him that he can be a hero. If he puts his mind to it, he can do anything! As far as they’re concerned, there’s no reason that he can’t fit in with other people. He just has to find his niche, find the people that he clicks with. Even if it might be hard, they’re sure he can do it, and will support him endlessly to that fact.
Of course, getting his license is ― interesting. This is a 31-year-old man who’s taking an exam with a bunch of, depending on the universe, high school or college kids. And you can bet everyone knows it. Anyone who isn’t aware of what Teruo’s Quirk is would think it’s a disadvantage, either because he’s 10+ years older than everyone else and thus may not be very talented if he’s only just getting around to trying for a license, or because they assume he must be so ashamed by being at that age without having gotten his license that he’s going to mess up. Joke’s on everyone else, obviously. As long as Teruo is sufficiently embarrassed about either of those assumptions, or indeed embarrassed about being so much older than his competition, he’s probably going to do just fine. It’s also a safe bet that he’s very good at rescuing, at least in terms of triage. He worked in an office for three years, so he’s very used to keeping things orderly. He’ll be able to get a structure going, assess which ‘injured’ actors take priority, who among his group should be in charge of what, and how best to get things done. Even if he’s not among the top performers in fighting the fake villains, he’ll impress the judges with the way he takes charge to get his allies organized.
While on the job, Teruo often keeps an earpiece in with a radio connected to (Name). It’s kind of like a walkie-talkie, kind of like a phone, just between the two of them. What’s the purpose? Why, so his S/O can whisper romantic and/or dirty things in his ear and can embarrass him on cue. It’s mostly as a backup in case he’s already stripped down and still needs more power to dispatch a villain, of course. Striptease, predictably, has his main M.O. well established. It’s easy, it’s fast, and it usually works like a charm. But there are definitely times where he needs that extra boost of power, and (Name) whispering filthy things to him while he’s in public is guaranteed to give him one.
His mindset is something that’s going to take a while to fully change. Teruo is so convinced that society is broken, he’s so tunnel-visioned with believing that he doesn’t fit in, that he ends up screwing himself over. He thinks people are gossiping behind his back when they’re just talking about something unrelated or even praising him, he feels like nobody wants to be his friend even though he doesn’t typically reach out to make the first move, and he’s sometimes insecure that his S/O is going to leave him for someone more… ‘normal’. It’s unfortunate, because once he opens up a bit, he’s a perfectly nice guy who’s just a little awkward and is so frustrated by this that he thinks he’s weird and a loser. He’s not either of those things, and he’s far too hard on himself; he just has a horrible tendency to get in his own way.
He has to be very careful about his Quirk, believe it or not. He gets easily flustered around (Name), and it doesn’t take much before he’s so embarrassed that he’s strong enough to accidentally bruise their fingers by holding their hand too hard. It’s a conscious effort to either work on not being so rattled so quickly or being sure to gauge his own strength moment by moment. He’ll get there eventually… it’ll just take practice.
