The Emperor's Soul is my second favorite Cosmere work and I had promised to draw a full cast. I finally did it this year, for the latest Spring Festival, as a celebratory piece.
When I learned about its cultural background from the postscript, I was deeply impressed. Brandon really did a great job on depicting his version of Asia-based fantasy. The story is well-received here; Many people immediately regard it as Brandon's best take so far. For me, it just feels at home, since I used to do seal carving a lot back in school and I still keep that precious chisel.
When doing art, I put the whole setting into a glorious alternative Tang Dynasty, but that was just my personal quirk (I like the diversity and colorfulness of that era). My design of the Moon Scepter was based on Brandon's answers from Reddit (analogue of a wavy Ruyi) and was helped by a history friend. The final product is based on his concept sketch! Kudos to him =)
