I'm trying *so hard* to play the first Witcher game.

How does it feel 10x more dated than TES: Oblivion, which came out a year earlier????

(okay yes the answer is probably "Dae you just have several hundred hours in Oblivion and have had 20 years to integrate it into your internal sense of How Games Work" but still.)

Within my first few hours of playing Oblivion I have laughed in the face of a man and bruised his ego purely by accident and SOMEHOW that didn’t made Julianos hate me. Thank the nine.

Ok, so I’ve lost almost my entire week so far to playing TES: Oblivion and I am thoroughly enjoying myself so far. The controls are still taking a bit to get used to, but I think I’m making progress (and thank whoever made the sliding scale for difficulty, you’re my saviour and I love you). I’m not too far in right now, but I’m trying my best to get some of the side quests done in between the main story stuff. I think on my next playthrough I’m just going to do all the side quests in an area that I can find because I’m loving the lore ^^;.

Okay so I keep having this thought about the Dark Brotherhood Oblivion quest line and just...how much better it could have been. It was good don't get me wrong but the ending itself was just...lackluster?? Like we get the dramatic traitor reveal...and it's some guy we don't even know???

So like here's what I propose. I think it would have been so much better if we actually got to meet and befriend Mathieu Bellamont before the events that take place in the Night Mother's tomb. Like it would have made the ending so much more painful to know that not only was your dear mentor slain in cold blood but that you were forced to slay someone who you thought was a friend, who you thought was family. Like you already had to go through the purification, but now you had to slay the one friend you had remaining, who has it turned out was using you for your naivety.

At least I think it would have been better.
