Mind Control Aftermath/Recovery fics scratch a particular itch for me, for some reason, and I think a lot about that with Jaina, Alema, Tahiri, Tekli, Zekk, Lowie, Tesar, and their weird unclassifiable psychic trauma bond just trying to collectively deal with everything after they're all done being Joiners.

Literally everyone is neurodivergent. I mean, this is the case in canonverse too, but in this case I think it could also go a long way to keep some of the canonically more "alien" characters recognizable in this setting.

Tesar also talks exactly like he does in canon. Nobody really understands why, but anyone who's around him long enough will be very surprised that a human can physically make those hisses and growls.

With Jag only now figuring out she's a girl, I'm guessing it'll take her a bit more than four years to figure out how she really wants to present herself as far as that goes. Especially with how emotionally repressed Jag is in general.
I really want Riina to somehow still exist as a plurality situation with Tahiri.
