Tess R. redraw. Tumblr is destroying the quality on this image as always.
Transparent and original below the cut
HIT THE JACKPOT AGAIN!!!!!! I have 1, 5, and 7!!!!! And these ones aren’t even disgusting!!!!!!
I don't think Tess died in Johnny's house.
Sure, we see her literally dissolve with the end of the universe
But in Anne Gwish, we see her mention
Which, in the comics, comes before her and Dillon's "deaths", but it mentions them breaking up, which doesn't make sense if they died on their first date. Unless it was a reconciliation which I don't think it is.
I think it makes a lot of sense for the "end of the universe" bit to be that this is Johnny's perception fading as he dies of blood loss. One thing I really like in stories is when it's hard to tell what is and isn't real, and what's all within the character's head.
I think there's a lot of reasons to believe Johnny's not just hallucinating the doughboys because Devi is also able to hear Psycho-Doughboy scream over the phone, and the entirety of the plot of IFS seems to hinge on the idea this is a Very Real Thing that Johnny wasn't delusional (about that, at least).
It's really hard to say what is/isn't real within the story since so much of it is portrayed from Johnny's POV. But I think The Wall Thing was real. I think it destroyed the lower layers of House 777. It very probably killed Dillon but the fact Tess was no longer in the bowels of the house (which I could talk forever about my theories on how House 777 works), she was exempt from it when things completely crumbled. The other guy was likely punished by the house for stomping Nny's head in the rest of the way and that's why it went out of its way to eviscerate him.
As a side note, I think this background character in Zim could very possibly be Tess post-JTHM. After all, Anne Gwish said she changed her hair.
