she screams when she catches sight of her child, heart in her throat. a beat passes, and in a shaky voice she skips greeting and jumps to admonishment. “ you know there’s no hats allowed in the house. “ her fingers twitch, like she wants to smack it off of his head herself, but she’s too scared to actually do anything that bold. instead, she stirs the pasta. “ especially not one’s associated with ... “ a wince. “ we don’t condone that kind of behavior in this house. “

"My first impression." Harry leaned forward, carefully thinking about it. "I think you're the kind of person I could talk to until the restaurant closes… which is lucky, because they're open late tonight."
@stringswoven said: we keep meeting like this. (Lucy for Harry!)
Harry lingered near the balcony, drink in hand, pretending to check his phone while his eyes tracked Lucy across the room. He'd told himself he was just making an appearance, shaking a few hands. He planned on leaving early, but it all changed the moment he saw her.
When she finally noticed him, it was with that quick, knowing smile and Harry's mouth curved. "At other people's parties? If I didn't know better, I'd think you're starting to enjoy running into me." He remarked with that half smirk, teasing her.
"Though… I'm not exactly complaining about the coincidence."

The sound of running water filled the room. Harry stood by the bathroom door, one hand resting on the frame, a towel slung low on his hips as the first traces of steam slipped into the air of the bedroom. He was smiling as he looked at Wanda, still lying on his bed.
"I was planning to be quick," he said pointing at the shower, "but I could be convinced to take my time… if you're the persuasive type." His tone was amused and his eyes were glinting.

It was one of those elegant, over-dressed political charity balls. The kind Jack was all too familiar with. Yet, he found himself wishing they'd hurry up and get to the auction part already, or the dancing.
He spotted a young man standing apart from the crowd, looking like he was navigating the evening with, let's say, less enthusiasm than most.
Jack stepped over with an easy grin. "You alright? You look like you could use an ear... or something stronger to drink, at the very least," he joked. Then, he extended a hand smoothly. "Jack Duquesne. Fencer, philanthropist, occasional party crasher. Mind if I join you for a bit?"

Jack wasn't entirely sure why there were explosions, or who exactly they were fighting, but there was one thing he was sure of: his swordplay was better than ever. He took down one more guy with an elegant and precise stroke of his sword before turning on his heel and regrouping beside Clint
With a flourish, he uncovered his face, revealing a cheerful grin, barely a hair out of place. "What's the plan?" he asked brightly, glancing at the Avenger.
