2 Skin Game things. 1) Nicodemus shanking Deirdre: I think the reason his pain was emphasized was more about how far he had Fallen to allow the maneuvering of the angel to set him on that path without turning aside. Especially since he could have used Ascher, whose job was done, whether she held the coin or no. 2) Also, Lasciel is a Fallen Angel. Someone rejecting her is not done, period. It's not a woman's rage at being scorned, it's a demon's. The "woman scorned" is a pithy turn of phrase.
Re: Deirdre. I think the reason it had to be Deirdre was because whoever got sacrificed at the Gate of Blood had to be a willing participant? (Harry says something to that effect when he’s taunting Nicodemus—how sad it was that after a couple millennia of wreaking havoc, Nicodemus really only had one person who would be willing to lay their life down for him. One wonders, why couldn’t he have brought a squire or two along?)
Anyway, the thing that ticks me off about this situation is nothing new, really. I get that Nicodemus is the focal point of all of the Denarians’ schemes. I might not like that (this series has way, way filled up its white cishet dude quota) but I get it. He’s the mastermind, the master of shadows, whatever. But what I don’t understand is why isn’t the same attention given to Deirdre? To Tessa? To Rosanna? Why aren’t angels and Knights hatching schemes and making thunderous speeches to save them? Why isn’t there any attention paid to how tragic a figure Deirdre is? If Harry and Michael shudder at the thought of Harry Jr. growing up with the Fallen whispering in his ear, why don’t they ever spare a moment to pity Deirdre, to whom a similar thing probably happened? Angels and Knights go on and on about choice. Why can’t Deirdre be given one? I mean, we don’t even know her Fallen’s name. She is given one—count it, one—conversation with Harry about why she does what she does, and it’s essentially her reiterating her devotion to Nicodemus. Been there, done that, I’m bored.
Two things from all this disappointment:
1. As a culture, we conceptualize villainous men as complex creatures, worthy of complicated psychologies and possibly redemption (see: Walter White, Dexter, Hannibal and every white dude villain ever), but villainous women as one-trick ponies.
2. When a female character’s death is about the pain it causes a man instead of being about her motivations, character arc, associated themes, etc., we call it fridging.
Re: women being scorned and then turning murderous. Like, I don’t care that Lasciel is one of the Fallen? Harry (and us by extension) have pretty much cemented this particular demon as a her so she is effectively a woman, no matter what Uriel says. That on its own is kind of problematic, as Lasciel is the Temptress and Webweaver—oh, look, a female character who uses ~seduction~ to get what she wants. How novel. How scintillating.
And that pithy turn of phrase has some disturbing implications? That women are prone to being emotional unstable, that romantic disappointments turn women dangerous, and because it is a trite aphorism that both trivializes and pathologizes any legitimate emotional pain a woman might feel? Hate hate hate.

Sure there’s a point. Do it for you!
Well, like. To go anywhere for me is a long drive and takes all day. Going somewhere just to be there and then come home is pointless.
You could work out. or sleep. or shower. or go outside and take a deep breath. All of these things make people feel good and are good for people.
((All these things involve movement.
But yeah. Ok. Yes. I’ll go outside for a bit. Thank you.))
All hail the adorable booty queen.
omfg ily all seriously ;u; <3 <3 <3
Why do you not care about Arya?
I don't dislike her but they haven't done much with her yet. vOv
First: Awesome drawing. I really like it. Second: If you wanna add a background, you could put a large grid and give it a slant. Voila! Concrete wall. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work.
((I’m kinda lazy and don’t feel like adding to it but that would probably work better. Oh well. And thanks man))
You have a beautiful smile.
omg that’s so sweet????
i’m publishing this so i can keep it forever
