btw if you’re interested --- I got curious and looked up the origin of the word? Apparently it comes from ancient Longobard - a language spoken by some germanic people in the north of Italy, and it seems to have many “children” words in many languages? So as you mentioned Spanish, Croatian, Serbian and other baltic languages have ‘sala’ too, Portuguese has ‘salão’, French has ‘salle’, German ‘Saal’, Russian ‘зал’ (zal), and so on c: i just love language similarities and connections a lot okay lol
