This came up on FB as a memory yesterday - 8 years ago this week I was in Venice. I've been blessed to spend 6 "spring" semesters teaching in Italy instead of Upstate NY -- I'm a very lucky man.

Tetrarchs Relief, San Marco, Venice (2008).
The Monumento ai Tetrarchi or Portrait of the Four Tetrarchs (300 AD) embedded in the façade of Saint Mark's Basilica, Venice, Italy, was looted from Constantinople in 1204 during the Fourth Crusade. It represents four Roman emperors.
